Is MaxPass worth it without Parkhoppers?

Haven't been to Disneyland in two years (never used maxpass) and plan to get the 3 day 1 park SoCal ticket in February. It will be myself and two daughters who are able to ride everything. Since we haven't been in so long I thought the parkhoppers weren't necessary (there's enough to do in both parks to keep us busy for a full day). The max pass adds $135 to the cost - worth it? We will most likely be there on busier (weekends) days.

Are you guys all old enough/able to do single rider?

Personally, I rarely think it’s worth it on DCA-only days. I know I’m kind of in the minority there, but there are so few FP rides there... probably not worth $45 of convenience.

I’d probably just get it on one DL day and focus on FP rides that day, tbh.

Yes, my youngest is 7 so we could do single-rider, but it's not ideal (i.e. we prefer to ride together). I was thinking there were more FP rides at DCA, but I guess you're right.

Are there attractions with MaxPass, but not paper FP tickets? Like TSMM and Matterhorn? I remember them not having paper tickets, but they are listed under MaxPass.

No. All MP enabled attractions are FP attractions. At its heart MP is just a simple way of saying “app controlled FP”. FP has been added to those 2 recently.

No, they have FP machines now. There’s nothing accessible with Maxpass that you can’t pull a regular FP for.

Not sure if you’ve checked this out, but may be helpful: https://www.disboards.com/threads/m...view-and-some-strategy.3726246/#post-60074882

For my family, yes it is absolutely worth it, even at DCA. It really takes the edge off for us to not be running around crazily and we replace that time with sitting somewhere calmer, booking some fast passes on my phone and getting to spend a few quieter moments as a family together.

When we spent one day DCA only with my in-laws during spring break, they purchased MaxPass for their tickets. (We already had it on our APs.) I would happily have purchased the MaxPass for them, and my mother-in-law expressed no regret over the extra expense. Not only was it a pleasant relief to not have to be the fastpass runner as I usually am, especially when we travel with additional friends or family, but it took away the trying-to-fit-everything-in stress and allowed everyone to just enjoy the day. My mother-in-law got to do everything on her list even though they were tired and ready to return to their hotel room by 6 PM.

Can you purchase Max Pass for one day or does it need to be for all days of your ticket?

If you pre-purchase when you buy your ticket, then it is for all days.

However, you can always purchase one day at a time after the fact. You just have to have been scanned in at the gate.

Great! Thank You!

I think MP makes the day so much more relaxed AND you ride a lot more rides. I would buy it personally. Disneyland is already expensive no matter how you do it.
