is MAXpass the same thing as FASTpass ?

is MAXpass the same things as Fastpass? is the only difference that maxpases can be pulled electronically on the app, while fastpasses are at a kiosk?

Max Pass also provides you with digital copies of photo pass pictures including character and ride pictures.

Otherwise, it is a way of using your phone to MAXimize FP.

You must have the DL App to access Maxpass. You can add it to your AP at the ticket booth, or purchase daily use of Maxpass via the DL app when you have a Disneyland/California Adventure ticket.
Maxpass:

• Once entering one of the parks you can access Maxpass and choose any available fastpass at either park
• a new fastpass becomes available after 90 minutes (you cannot have two fastpasses for the same attraction, though) (with paper fastpass you can pick another fastpass after 2 hours)
• If you change your mind you can delete the fastpass and choose another. This releases the fastpass back into the system
• By refreshing you can see if any fastpasses come available for an attraction you want, or get one that has a less wait because it's now available
• You can link other tickets to your DL app and create a fastpass party where you can get fastpasses for everyone at one time. Anyone in the party can delete their fastpass if they want a different option. More than one person can have the same fastpass party linked to their phone.
• Maxpass comes with photopass as an added benefit, which includes ride pictures, and any picture that the cast members take, including 'magic shots

Also, Maxpass allows you to book Fastpass times that other Maxpass users have cancelled. So, theoretically, you can get FP for a ride that has no more fastpasses to give out.

Also, you can cancel your Fastpass when using Maxpass if you change your mind and rebook a new ride. Can't do that with the old system.

You don't have to have maxpass to cancel an FP. You just need the app and your ticket loaded into the app to cancel FPs that are pulled from the kiosks.

If you have already bought your tickets then yes you would have to buy maxpass each day in the park after you’ve entered for the day. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet and your going to buy them directly from Disney you can buy them with maxpass already.

If your cc is already stored on the app (you can enter it ahead of time) and you have the 3 digit security code memorized, it should only take you a matter of minutes to scan 4 tickets into the app and purchase MP. It really is that easy.

You can, and should imo, scan in your tickets now. Write the persons name on each ticket. Easier to track because the app has you name them.

If you have your tickets stored in your app and your credit card attached to it, it literally takes seconds to purchase MaxPass. Last time I was there, I bought MP while walking into the park after having been scanned in, and I had it and was booking my first FP as I was walking through the tunnel. It is that quick and easy.
