for those who have been to/ or know about Mardi Gras---is it worth battling the extra crowds on those days to see the parade and concert?

If we go it would be on April 2, and it looks like that day is expected to be as busy as a summer day according to the express pass prices (59.99)

there are no on-site rooms avail for Sat, april 2, and don't want to pay extra for EP for Sat because we are checking in on-site hotel for April 3 so we will have EP for Sun/Mon. We will have 4 day tickets and don't want to waste 1 day on Sat if it's going to be so busy we don't get to do much, but hate to miss out on the mardi gras stuff if it's something we really shouldn't miss, so I'm looking for opinions as to whether it would be worth it to go for mardi gras sat?

Thanks for any info

I think the parade is fantastic and a lot of fun. If you are interested in seeing the performer that night for the concert, it's definitely worth it.

I always like a parade :), but the performer is part of what is making my decision so hard....I've found info that on April 2 it will be Ne-Yo.....and I don't know anything about him and my kids haven't heard of him either. anyone know what type of music he plays?

I think he's a rapper/hip hop artist. I will tell you the crowd that night will be mainly younger people and the Studios will be jam packed! He performed here last year and the crowds were insane!

Ne-Yo was actually my old manager for a band i was in for a couple years. He's an R&B artist. He has won grammy's and all sorts of awards. Search him on youtube to see a song of his. More known songs are "Closer" "Miss Independent"
