Is "Magical Gatherings" a Joke????

I wouldn't call our trip a fiasco, however, we really didn't benefit much from going under Magical Gatherings.
Because we were a group of 9, most of our reservations went right thru the regular dinning. The few times I held for, or was transfered to MG, the wait was longer and they said I could have used WDW-Dine....
We booked a cruise, but because of schedule conflicts, we couldn't keep it. There were no free pins, t-shirts, no other perks except the privledge of booking these 4 events and we just couldn't seem to coordinate them right.
Even when I asked to buy the MG Pins, no one knew there was such a thing...(found them at EPCOT BTW)
In "94, 9 of us went (for my BIL's wedding) on the Lion King Package. We got free Character Breakfasts, free posters, free 5x7 photo...I was hoping it would be reminicent of that trip...oh well...

We went through MG for our family reunion trip in August. There were 16 of us total, and our experience was wonderful once we got everything straightened out. It took a few calls to get our reservations correct, but once that was done, I found the MG cm's to be helpful. We did the fireworks cruise as well, and agree that it was worth every penny. You just cannot see Wishes from a better vantage point, no crowds to leave the park, it's great! I think the last time I talked to our GG cm, she told me that now things should be easier to book since now the GG experiences can be booked at the same time as your resort. Check that though, because we've been given wrong info before.....As far as the ps's go, I had to go through group services because we were over 10 people. You have to give them a cc# to secure the ps if there are more than 10, and if some don't show for the ps, your cc is then charged $10 per person who doesn't show. We did have a couple of times when not everyone showed, the cm told me that it's usually only charged if a large amount of the group doesn't come, like half....
