I just came back from Kohl's from trying on shorts. I tried on a 12 Lee's and they fit fine then tried on the Sonoma's 10. They fit also. I felt great, a smaller size. Then I measured both shorts together. The 10 Sonomas were alittle bigger in the waist than the Lee 12s. understand that sizes can be alittle off between brands but this is way different. Is Kohls trying to mess with my mind, making me feel better because I wear the smaller size and that I'll maybe buy more????

Is Sonomas owned by Kohls?

Yes, it's a Kohl's house brand.

All I can say is that every brand fits differently, I can often go up or down a size depending on the brand. I don't think it's necessarily Kohl's doing it on purpose, it's probably just the sizing they use.

There might be some vanity sizing going on with the Sonoma brand, but Lee brand has ALWAYS fit me tightly in the waist, pretty much no matter what size I try on.

I think their shorts/jeans are usually cut for a tiny waist and bigger hips/thighs, which is just not how I'm built. (It is why Lee has a reputation for being "mom jeans" too. ;) )

I just bought a pair of Sonoma denim capri's that were a 10. I'm losing weight, but my rear end is still a 12 :rolleyes1 in most pants/shorts. The Sonoma 10's were even a little big, but I figured they'd shrink. The funny thing is that a couple of years ago, NO Sonoma pants/shorts fit me right. They were too small (even in my normal size).

As for Lee, I can't wear those either. They run too tight in the hips. My best bet is Dockers. And in Dockers, I wear a 10 pretty consistently.

Welcome of the world of Chinese produced clothing.

I've worn a 10 1/2 E shoe as long as I can remember (20+ years out of high school.) I haven't tried on shoes for that long. Just got a new pair of shoes, 10 1/2 E, and they are way too narrow.

I've worn Levi jeans all my life, since at least 3rd grade (nearly 30 years ago.) When Levi sent their production overseas, all of a sudden, they were way too tight in the, and I'm not trying to brag here (I'm a guy....), crotch area.

30 years of Levis fitting perfectly and now I had to hunt for a new jeans company because everything I tried was too tight in the same area. Ended up with Arizonas from JC Pennys.

Shorts are the same way. Never had a problem until a few years ago. Now every pair of shorts I try are too tight, same area. I'm definitely not getting any bigger there, but all pants/shorts are the same. I buy all my shorts Arizona brand now as well as what few dress pants I have.

T-shirts. I have been wearing a 2X Large for years and years and years. I like them pretty loose and easy to move and twist around at work. I buy 5 t-shirts off at the same time, in the same store, off the same shelf all in 2X large and 2 shirts would fit and 3 would be way too small.

Oh, and before it is said, I am 230 lb. and have been the same for at least 15 years + 2-3 lb.
