Is Jersey week really that busy?

I have been trying to book a unit at Vistana for the week of Nov.6-13th. Nothing is showing up yet (I should mention that I already have a week booked from Oct.30-Nov.6). Actually not really any of my choices are coming up. I am a "planner" and I need to know that I have that second week booked. The only thing I can chalk it up to is Jersey week. Could this be the case? Or am I just still planning a little too early for Interval International? Opinions?

Not sure about the booking window for your resort...but I do know that the last 2 years I have not been able to get the whole week for "Jeresy Week" at any of the DVC resorts...they are booked solid >6 months in advance....so I suspect the same may be true for all timeshare/resort proerties in the area. It is busy. This year , along with Jersey Week, there is EPCOT F&W, Super Soap Weekend at MGM, Festival of the Masters, Election Day and Veteran's Day, so yes, it will be very busy. We were there in 2002 when all of these things coincided and it was not really a pleasant vacation. Went last year the week before Thanksgiving week and it was incredibly enjoyable - really no crowds during the week.

Not that busy. I've been al different times of year and Jersey week is the least crowded.

We are planning to go that week in 2006, so I will be sure to book early!

BTW, in an "election year" there may be a bit more of us NJ'ers. I know in a few districts around here, when there is an election day-which falls on the same week as the teacher conventions-they will push Veteran's Day up a week and give the kids the whole week off. It happened last year and I am told it happened in 2002 as well (but DD was not in school then so don't go by me).
