Hi all,

Was just wondering...I am going to be booking a trip for April 2006. Was either going to go to TA or book directly thru Disney. I want to book the MYW package With the Dining plan. Would it be worthwhile to join CAA just for the discount? I do not know how much the discount is, or whether it can be applied to the MYW with Dining or is it just off of the room? ....anyone know? Thanks so much! :goodvibes

Welcome. In my opinion it would not be worth it to join just for discounts. You will find all the great info you will need here to book this vacation cheaper yourself.

I'm having the same dilemma. I am considering purchasing a CAA membership. I think the price to join on-line is around $60. Cdn. We are planning a WDW vacation 12/2006 for 10-14 nights.

If we decide to stay at POP for the 10-14 nights and if I can get a CAA discount (by booking through CRO direct or Dreams Unlimited, probably DU)the room would be $61.6/nt plus tax (20% off of value season) vs. $77/nt plus tax without discount.

Total savings for 10 nights would be $ 154 US
Total savings for 14 nights would be $ 215.6 US

So even with the price of the membership I would still be saving.
But I would rather rent DVC points though so at this point I'm not sure what to do.
DH may be going on strike May 21 (Happy 40th birthday DH) so WDW may be cancelled (and/or our Florida 12/05 trip) if the strike drags on or if the company closes (due to the strike) as they are talking about doing. YIKES!!! He won't even get strike pay since he won't walk the picket line. I guess I can just hope for the best.

For us it is worth it. We drive to Florida so it is nice to have the security of knowing if anything happens to the van we have backup. We used it for the hotels on the way down and back, and have used it a few times since. Thanks Kathy

You can use your CAA for discounted admission to a lot of things in Ontario too. I got into a few things at lower admission last summer but can't remember which ones now! I'm thinking the African Lion Safari near Hamilton, a Toronto attraction CitiPass (zoo, CN Tower, ROM, Science Center, art gallery, Casa Loma). It's also good for discounted hotel rooms around Canada, and maybe some restaurants. There's quite a few things, really. Go to the CAA website to check it out.

I am saving $30us per night at Port Orleans Riverside with my CAA discount in November. Over 7 nights, that is very much worth the price of of my CAA membership.......which I have actually had for over 20 years!
