Is it worth using AAA to book?

I have never found any package deals that are cheaper than booking separately, but now that I have read about unlimited fastpass w/ AAA it has got me wondering, are there good deals with AAA?

We want to go from Salt Lake City to DL in September. Last time I booked our air on Delta and afterwards had the option to add the HoJo for only $30/night! Just wondering if anyone feels it is worth using AAA for packages?

The unlimited FP feature is only if you stay at one of the DLR hotels, so your HoJo deal is MUCH better!!

I guess it depends on if you know you want to stay onsite. We knew we wanted to stay at GCH on our last trip. Since we were going with other family members and the dates were fixed, we couldn't chance any last minute (ap or disney visa) deals. Booking via aaa gave us a savings of $200 a package over WDTC. The enhanced fastpasses helped a lot on the weekends. My Brother in-law will only book with aaa becasue of the enhanced fastpass. We upgraded our parkhoppers to AP, but come expiration date, we won't be renewing. We'll probably purchase another pacakge via aaa to get the enhanced fastpasses and upgrade again..

You really just have to shop around and see what you can find. For my recent trip it was $4 more to book through AAA then the WDT site. I tried to piece it together and wasnt able to get it down any cheaper any where else.

Airfare was about $620 round trip for 2 kids/ 2 adults from Seattle to long beach. I was able to use the kids fly free special. I couldnt use that thru expedia/ travelocity, etc.

Hotel- wanted the candy cane inn for the location, breakfast and shuttle. They dont use online booking companies. Its either AAA, WDT or direct with them. It was the same price no matter which way I went.

Park hoppers- kids play free. Could either buy as part of a package or through getawaytoday.com. Had I went with them I would have paid a handling fee.

So, by booking thru WDT I get the pins, lanyards, luggage tags, Morning Madness, etc, for less then booking else where. I will say though, that I did a lot of research on travelocity and expedia to figure out what days the cheapest airfare was available, etc. Then used those flights to book with WDT. When I tried to just go blindly to the WDT site the dates I wanted were a lot more expensive.

I used AAA for our upcoming trip in May. We are staying at DLH and doing the kids fly free deal. I tried many options to see if I could get it cheaper, AAA beat everyone and we will get the unlimited fastpass also.

by unlimited fastpass does that mean you can hold more than one fastpass at once or that when you are at the park you go directly in to fastpass lanes without obtaining the actual fastpasses? Just wondering if AAA is something I should look into purchasing. Can you buy AAA for 1 year or is it longer, and how much is a year membership? If I book a package after I get AAA do I do it through AAA or though Disney and tell them I have AAA to get this fastpass option. Sorry but I am clueless of this whole plan. :rotfl2:

It is actually "enhanced" fastpass. It means that rather when only being only to have one fast pass at a time (either until the time comes up or two hours has passed) you can have one for each ride that offers fast pass. You are limited to one pass for each of the rides (until the time comes up or 2 hours pass). So, for example you could not stand and space mountain and keep getting fast pass after fast pass until the machine was empty. :rotfl: You must stay at one of the three disney properties to get this bonus from AAA.

AAA is about $50-60 a year. You would need to check for your state. You can book with AAA without being a member, but I believe they charge you a fee, which would bring your total to about the same as just buying the membership. But, you would want to confirm that with them. You would not want to book through Disney- you must book with AAA.

edit to add: just to make sure I was clear- you have to book a package (hotel and park hoppers) with AAA. Not just hotel or tickets.
