Is it worth using a days admission at DHS?

Our trip is Nov 27 to Dec 5. With so much closed at DHS and now GMR closing next month, is there much left here to see? We don't ride ToT or do character meets. I do really like Star Tours and TSM but is there much else open?

I can finish HS in 2 hours if I rd, maybe 3. I usually have a snack and cocktail at HBD. I do ST, RNRC, TOT, and TSMM. I might do GMR. I'd hop after that.

We always find enough to do for day at HS. But, we enjoy all the shows, eating at 50s PT, and Fantasmic. The only real problem we have is finding counter service worth eating. We will be doing about 3 half days this trip because we are going at Christmas.

True but GMR won't be around for the OP's trip. To answer their question, no I don't think DHS is worth a day's admission. I would only go over there with a hopper if you just wanted to do a couple of the big rides. Check back in 2020, DHS should be awesome.

We spend a full day at HS. We enjoy ToT, RNRC and TSM. There's Star Tours and the meet and greet with Keylo Ren, Chewy and BB-8. We'll do lunch at 50's and dinner at Sci-Fi and hit Beauty & the Beast show as well as Indiana Jones. Then stop at some of the shops to see what we might buy. We also have Fantasmic or Star Wars Spectacular and the desert party at the end of our night. We just done see a reason not to spend a full day. There's still a lot to do. :smickey:

We can fill a day there easily and still enjoy the park in its current state. True there are only a few rides. But if you do Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast, Launch Bay, one mans dream with movie trailer/film, frozen ever after, Pixar live and then one of the evening shows it's still a pretty full day. Plus the Star Wars stage show/phasma March if it's still going. Throw in a meal and some snacks, a charachter meet and you've got a nice touring plan.

I could easily do a full day there. I could probably even do 1.5-2 days there if I had the time.

We would do a full day if we had to. With hoppers, we did three half days out of 6.5 park days. RnR, ToT, TSMM, and ST are four of our favorite rides. No way we would skip those. And there's a lot we didn't even get to on those three half days.

Thanks for all the input. I would love to hear more. No, we won't have hoppers this trip but I was thinking this could be a bit of a rest day - either have some pool time if its warm enough or go to the boardwalk - which I have never done - or DS. What is Launch Bay? I also thought that One Man's dream was closed. We didn't go last time so we might pop in.

Depends on your party and what you want to do. We still have young kids so we includes Beauty and the Beast show, Ariel show, Frozen sing along, Muppets, and TSM. My older kids (and me!) also love rockin rollercoaster and ToT. And Fantasmic is my favorite Disney night time show.

Not much is closed. If you paid a ticket to go to HS 2-3 years ago, not much is closed from then.

I will say though that imo HS does lack. I'm ready for both new lands to open so wife and I have more to do. We don't go on Star Tours, she doesn't like ToT or RnR.. So for us, HS is like a 3 hour park. We go there because we're AP's. But that's no different for me than it was 2 years ago. It's not like half the park is closed. Attraction wise lights motors action (which I loved), and the backlot tour (which I loved also) are the only things closed. GMR is closing soon, so that's 3 things. So 2 years ago we'd still only spend a few hours there.

But like some people have said, they can spend all day there. And now we really enjoy going at night to see the star wars projections/fireworks

So if a couple years ago you spent a full day there, then really no reason not to do the same. If you're more like me and only spend a few hours there and you don't have park hoppers, then I'd skip it

Rest day/pool day sounds way better to me than having to spend all day at DHS.

If you have multiple days of non-hopper tickets, is it possible to change one day out of (in my case) 5 to a park hopper pass? I don't want to skip DHS, but I honestly think my party would enjoy going 1/2 a day there only, then take the boat over to Epcot for the night instead of a full day there.

DHS has always been my favorite park and worth at least 1.5 days. We love eating at 50's and Sci Fi and at least a couple people in our family will ride ToT, RNRC, Star Tours and Toy Story Mania. Throw in the shows: Muppets, Frozen, Playhouse Disney, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast you have a full day. We really don't care for Indiana Jones but will see Fantasmic if it works out timewise. Haven't seen the Star Wars fireworks or character areas yet. Might even throw in some characters to fill in time.

Would go to HS I would go at RD and do the rides that you like watch the march of the first order then go back to you hotel to rest swim then back for the night time fire works. with 8 days plus your travels days have some times to rest would be nice.

( I do not know your other plans or how many park days you are planing.)

We have hoppers so we will be doing an evening at HS this year and possibly EMH one morning in August before hopping to another park.
We love HS and can't imagine skipping it but that is our opinion. ToT is my all time favorite ride, we love TSM & Star Tours.. The fireworks show is awesome too! :) plus it has one of our favorite snacks the Carrot cake cookie!

We enjoy going to all the shows every time we are there. A lot of people don't, and that's where you get the feedback that it's not worth a day's ticket. We use hoppers, but all told in our 10 day trip last October, we probably spent the equivalent of 1.5-2.0 days there.

It's nice to know that there is still enough open there to make it worthwhile. We have 9 full days at WDW and have 7-day hoppers. We plan to spend two days at the dark side. I am planning 2 days each at Epcot, AK and MK. We are two adults and my sister will likely have an ECV so that will slow down my usual commando style. I had originally planned to have 6 day passes and have a rest day but decided for the price difference, we would bump it up to 7 day non-hoppers. We took advantage of the Canadian ticket offer so it would cost us too much to add the hopper later. I really appreciate all the replies from my Dis buddies! :thanks:
