Is it worth upgrading from QS to DP £656?

We really enjoyed the dining plan the last few times we have done it but have found it too much food but enjoyed eating at some restaurants, especially the character ones.
This time we are staying at POR so only have the QS plan and wondering if its worth paying the £656 to upgrade or just pay for 2 out of pocket meals at our favorite restaurants

If you are only planning 2 Table Service meals it would be much cheaper to pay out of pocket for them because £656 converts to almost $1,100.

The US free dining offers come out for far fewer dates than the UK offers and not very far in advance. I don't know if there are penalties for cancelling a UK package, but if a US FD offer comes out for your planned dates and your resort is included with available rooms (POR was not this time), the moderates include the regular dining plan.

I would love to try other restaurants too but totally torn, eating out was part of the fun on the dining plan but the high costs meant bigger tips than what we would pay off site ... Decisions, thanks for your input
