Is it worth the 5%?

We currently have a package booked with Disney for 30% off a moderate. I got a pin code in the mail, with 35% off for moderates for the same date range.

Is it worth it to go through the hassle (I assume it would be) to get an extra 5% off? Would you do it, or just let it go?

If you booked through Disney (or have a super TA) and your dates will still be the same, it's not a hassle at all. Super easy in fact. It'll probably take you all of 10 minutes, most of which will be going through the automated system. I would definitely definitely go for it.

It is no hassle, you simply call the ressie number and have them apply the code to your existing reservation (provided that there are rooms in that category and resort still available under that pin code).

Five percent off a Disney vacation could be a significant amount of money. Sure, I'd do it. If you booked through Disney, it should just take a phone call where they'll apply the new pin code. If you booked through a travel agent, give them the new code. You should be able to still keep the same reservation number, etc. Good luck.

I would definately call and check to see if the same resort and room catagory was available with the pin you rec'd. I am not sure if I would change resorts unless there was a valid reason. 5% is not much but it is almost half the cost of the tax on the room.

We decided to change our reservation from CR to BC since we plan on trying out a lot of new restaurants at Epcot this trip. We opted to book a studio villa at BC since it was 40% off compared to 35% off a standard BC room , both were the same price per night so it just made sense to go for that extra 5%, we saved an addition $17 a night booking the villa

Did it 3 times.

Booked before any discounts.

Few months and 15% off came up. I called and asked if it could be applied. No problem.

Few more months and 20% came. I called and they said no problem.

Just a few days if that later, I learned about kids stay and play free. I thought it would be more discount than the 20% so I called. Yup, looks like a pretty good savings, they said. Applied it no problem.

Why not? Even at $100/night, that's an extra $5 per night. For a week that's $35. That's a meal for two at least.

Value season, standard room, including tax, you're saving $7.62 per night. Better your pocket than Disney's, right? :) Higher level room, more expensive time of year, anything, you save even more.

I agree. :thumbsup2

If you have the e-mail, you can just check the savings online. I saved about $150 off 5 nights at the BC CL and about $50 off the WL Cabins.
