Is it worth spending precious morning hours doing brunch at the Plaza?

My 2.5 yo daughter LOVES Minnie. We are there the first week of May when hours are probably going to be short- park probably opens at 10am. When do they stop serving brunch? I hate to spend those precious few hours when the lines are short at bfast. Any other way to meet Minnie? I heard she isn't always at her house? Any advice would be great!

It's pretty rare, I think, for her to not be in her house receiving visitors. We have never experienced this, but maybe someone else will chime in.

It's not hard to meet most of the characters at Disneyland. They are often out greeting in the very front, at the end of Main St near the train station. We saw Minnie this past Saturday there and met her around 9ish pm, and she was still there when we left at almost 11pm. If you don't see her, go to City Hall, and they can often tell you what times she will be there.

We love the Plaza breakfast, especially when the park opens later in the morning. You are usually able to make a reservation for up to an hour before the park opens. If you are able to do this, you will likely be finishing when it opens or close to finishing. It's not just Minnie, but a bunch of other characters. If you have other mornings to do the long line stuff (like Peter Pan and Alice), then I would do the breakfast one day as long as your single and only reason isn't *just* to meet Minnie. We like meeting her without a line, meeting the other characters (like captain Hook and the Fairy Godmother), getting breakfast in, and getting it done before the park opens.

How about Goofy's Kitchen? It's buffet style Breakfast or Dinner. Recent changes have led to 5 constant characters available: Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Pluto from my understanding. (And even if Minnie isn't at her house, your little one may still love touring it.)

I would def. hit fantasyland as soon as the park opens as those rides get long lines fast. Minnie seems to always be in the front of mainstreet. We saw Minnie at her house for the 50th anniv. Not sure if she is still there, but I thought she hangs out front once in a while. Best bet is the front of mainstreet. Do a lunch over a breakfast unless you can get done before the park opens.

The Plaza begins taking reservations on MM days, Tues, Thurs, Sat, 50 mins before the park opens. That is when we go, and we get there right when MM begins. Last time we were seated right about 8 for our 8:10 reservation. It was outstanding. Most of the characaters came out right away and we saw most at least a couple times.

So I guess my answer to your question is no. I would not take up park time with a 10 opening to eat at the Plaza just to meet Minnie. You will find her other places.

I would see about getting in an hour before park opening. I don't know it things changed but we always did her breakfast a non mm day. an hour before park opening.
I think Plaza inn breakfast is the best chr meal ever. We have seen 7- 10 chrs most times.

We used to always do the last seating around 10.30 when we could get in the park at 8.made for a good time to break and relax after a couple hours, then head back to the hotel to rest /swim when the park was getting busy around noon.

I agree with the previous poster. We went when DL had a Magic Morning and even though we didn't have hopper tickets, they let us go in for the Minnie & Friends breakfast. Park officially opened at 9am and our reservations were 8:30. 9:30/9:45 we were done and walking the park.

My kids love Surfs up Breakfast. I don't like breakfast very much but I like this one the best.

Surfs up is one of our favorites for food, Minnie's for characters.

I probably wouldn't do Minnie's for a 10 am park opening. If they don't have reservations before park opening I would book Surf's up (or Goofy's) for a pre-park breakfast if you want a breakfast. We have usually found Minnie in her house and on main street. We were near the front of the crowd when toontown opened on our last trip and my youngest got to hold hands with Minnie mouse and walk with her to her house.

Wow, thanks guys!!!! I think we will either try our luck in the park or go to Surf's Up! I wish there wasn't such a cancellation fee for reservations. Hard to know if we will catch Minnie before our last day. Thanks!

We love Minnie's Breakfast at the Plaza. If your daughter likes characters, it is a great place to meet them. We always book a late breakfast there at around 10:15 or 10:30 and have never been sorry. We get there at opening and spend some good short line park time before breakfast, and then go take a break and eat a meal and see the characters. At that time, the place is typically not that crowded and we have seen up to 12 characters and never less than 7. We also have gotten so spend quite a bit of time with the characters. Minnie has grabbed DD's hands and taken her dancing more than once during the meal. You never know who you are going to meet. We run into the Fairy Godmother about every time, which DD loves. I will warn you that they recently standardized the character's at Goofys to a specific 5, so I don't know if they might do that to Minnie's soon.

One warning is that Captain Hook is often there, which might be a bit scary for a 2 year old. He will back off if a child is scared of him though. I recall DD hiding under the table when he came up to us our first meal there. He was able to coax her out though and by the end of the meal she was doing the Macarena with him which was quite funny.

Minnie is at the front of the park in the mornings quite a bit. She is not always found at her house in Toontown during the day. I would say that more often than not, she has not been there when we are in Toontown. If she is there, her line is often really long. I'm sure she is always back there at some point in the day, but the question is when.

Oh- and even at a slow time I would bet the park will open at 9:00 a.m. instead of 10, which will give you over an hour before the meal. Someone else can correct me, but I don't think I have seen DL open later than 9:00 in quite a while.

As others have said you can get a reservation before park opening. So see if there is a 9am and you should be done with breakfast by 10am to start your day.

It's a nice breakfast spot and good characters. Also, Tigger/Pooh/Piglet are a little harder to find in the park with Critter Country closed so Plaza Inn seems to be a great place to spot them.

I've done it in the past, but now I would never waste precious morning hours on a sit down breakfast. I like to have a table restaurant lunch or early dinner in order to sit and rest for awhile. Morning hours are way too important to wast away!

Disneyland opens at 10 frequently. Slow times of the the year, weekdays. We had some when we were there in January.
