My schedule had to change slightly and its messes up my ressies. I will have to cancel my ADR for Ohana's (never been) or Kona (really like it) to see Fantasmic! (missed it three times now). What should I do? It will be me, dh, dd5 and ds7.
Thanks

Oh I forgot I don't have hoppers so it makes it more difficult.

IMHO, Fantasmic is a great show, but I like the Disneyland version better. DL's version is much more intimate and surprising. I haven't been back to see the DS version since 2002, but my spouse wants to go back on our next trip.

That being said, my last experience at 'Ohana was a little off. The service was fine, and we enjoyed it the restaurant, but the menu has changed and I was disappointed by the changes. They changed the shrimp portion, and the chicken wings didn't taste the same.

If it were me, I'd see Fantasmic, and I'd dine at either Mama Melrose or the Brown Derby.

I would definitely go see Fantasmic, there are plenty of places to eat at Disney. Even w/o hoppers you can eat well at a resort or DTD.

Be prepared, your 5yo and maybe 7yo might get a little scared during the show. Our 5yo, now 6yo sat on my lap and directed me to "hold me" on more than one occassion during the show. That said he loved the show and was able to identify "Fantasmic Mickey" sightings all over the "World" from that point on.

We really loved O'hana! We went there our first night on property (Nov 2005) and it was awesome - good food and lots of fun!
(I also really like Kona Cafe - yum!)

I'm planning to go to O'hana our first night this next trip too, and maybe trying to catch the Electrical Water Pageant afterwards - love that too, but it will be harder to see it this time as we're staying at POR (last time was WL).

We would go see Fantasmic. While both restaurants are good, staying in the MGM park and picking up a quick meal is the way to go for us. The show is great and our DD's (6&4) loved it! We just see it an opportunity to see an wonderful event as opposed to a dining experience. Just make sure you get in line 45 minutes to 1 hour before the show. It really fills up,that's how popular it is. Good luck with your decision either way.

DEFINITELY FANTASMIC! Book the package at the Brown Derby. You will have a nice meal and will not have to wait in line for Fantasmic.

If you've never seen Fantasmic cancel one of your dinner reservations. If you've already seen it then decide if you want to see it again or would rather try a new restaurant.
