Is it worth it to spend an extra $150 for 3-5 hours in the park on a Wednesday night?

Our plane is arriving in Orlando at 3:44 on Wednesday, May 16. From what I've been told, we probably won't make it to the HRH until 5:00. Would it be worth it for our family (2 boys - 6 and 3) to buy the two day pass to go into the park that evening? We would love to see as much as we can of both parks, but will only have that evening and Thursday.

Thanks.

parks close at 6 and 7, or 7 and 8 on wednesday. They close very on time, so it would be a waste. Plus, there are always delays. if you know how to get there, it will be abou 1 hour from landing. (took us 15 minutes to get off plane, and 15 to get luggage, then 20 to get there, then 15 to get settled and up to the room. Then, it takes 10 minutes to get to the parks if you walk. Boat may or may not be there. Check hours to be sure - you can always upgrade before the park closes, and just pay the difference between the tickets. By mail, the 3 day is only 10 bucks more www.ticketmania.com they can deliver to the hotel for you. Unused days dont expire, so maybe get the 3 day, and if you are there in plenty of time, go ahead and use them, otherwise, save them for later!

Meant to say, 3 day is $10 more that 2 day. If one of the parks is open til 8 (not sure if new hours yet), and you can get there at 5, and dont need to eat, then yes, it would be cool. 3 hours with your HRH key card (used for Front of the Line) and you could hit all the major rides. Dont switch parks in that time though. Maybe more worth it for kids who love to run around. Make sure you have a map, cuz all the major rides are spaced out around grounds. IOA is better on short time, but we saw US open the hour later, but most US rides have a preshow you must go through (you are in front though), and IOA rides are mostly 'jump on'. You can see your rooms from DR Doom Fear Fall by the way.
If you do IOA this way, go in through the shops (at 6 on the clock dial), and make a hard left to the hulk coaster, spidey ride, and fear fall - all together( at 7). Then continue to Dudely doo right falls (10), then continue on to Dueling Dragons - Fire and Ice (11 or 12 o'clock), then puke, then Jurassic Park congo (whatever) water ride (2) and the flight pteradactyl ride for kids (bring a 8 year old, or you cant go - it sure looked neato though!). Then go home, or to whoville where there are for kids rides (3 to 5 oclock). This is a clockwise path obviously. whoville then leads back to entrance.

May 16th! Yeah, they should have later hours by then. I think 9 and 10pm or so. I'd say go. Get the 3 day, and save the 3rd day for later. By the way, if you know you 'll be going back, on the 3rd day, you can upgrade to an anual pass.
I would do this: 3 day pass is $10 more than 2 day. So, get the 3 day. Only use 2 days. the 3rd day never expires. If you visit again next year, or 3 yers from now, use the 3rd day, during the day, upgrade it to an anual pass (I think about 40 bucks). Then, if you are staying 2 or 3 days that trip, you've paid about 50 bucks total on top of the 2 days you inteneded to buy this year. You could make it 4 or 5 days for that 50 bucks, and go again 11 months later for free!
>>>> We were going to go for 2 days, and do this, but on the 3rd day, the town car never arrived to take us to the airport, so we had to reschedule our trip, and stayed an extra day. We used our 3rd day. Since I know I will be back in October, I will get another 3 day pass, use it in october, and then buy the a.p. to be used in my next spring trip. I forgot to get the ap this time. I could kick myself. <<< Both parks have a cust svc area near the enterance, where you can upgrade your tickets. www.ticketmania sells 3 days for 98 bucks or so.

Wow, thanks for all the great info chase_pc! The three day pass and upgrading to an annual pass the next time is a great idea.

We went in November, when the parks closed at 7 pm. We got into IOA at 5:15 and accomplished quite a bit in that short period of time! Of course, we purchased SAP's, so it was a no-brainer, but I'd do it again. The park was relatively quiet, so we got to go on several rides and just absorbed the ambience of the park.

Obviously, queue for a ride at five minutes prior to closing, and end up at the back end of the park, so you can enjoy wandering around after the rides stop and do a bit of shopping.
