Is it worth getting the AAA membership for the discounts?

Wow..so you are saying that for the same package through Disney Travel, you can save an extra few hundred dollars if bought through AAA? Can you add on the dining plan as well, or take advantage of free dining plan if offered? How about changes to current reservations if a new promotion comes up?

Sorry, I know that is a lot of questions but just trying to figure out the most cost effective way to take our next trip.

Thanks!

We used AAA and the cost was more than covered in our discount. Codes came out later in the year and they applied those as well. We saved a lot of money using AAA versus doing it ourselves, so I would say yes it is worth it to use them. We also added Dining and tickets and got a prefered parking pass, some coupons for Planet Hollywood and some other things they were offering. So see what kind of packages they are offering.

There is another thread about this but i had booked and my TA didn't seem to know much about codes, when the dining came out I told her about it and she wasn't able to find it, so I booked myself with Disney, used the code and got a much lower price, I called AAA and told her I would cancel because I got a lower rate. She beat it and transferred my package with no charge. I had to do some leg work but it is nice to know there is "room" to move on the price. I still get AAA service and the bonuses they were offering for a vacation and the lowest price promo at the time.

Well I just joined, do you think I will have any luck for getting a discount on a package for next October?

Yes, that should be no problem. I just hope that you havE a knowledgable agent. I would do my homework first, then have them book the trip. What I did was to book the trip myself, then I signed a letter for Disney to transfer the reservation to my AAA agent, so I got the room I wanted and the rest of the package I wanted, then once it was transferred, they applied the discount, saved $250.
