Comcast 67/share..........DIS 27/share.

I didn't know the DIS was a public company

my guess is no....atleast No, if you are thinking the stock will be a quick money maker.

The stock is up on the prospect of a sale. If it doesn't go through, the price will likely drop. Even if it does go through, it isn't likely to go through the roof.

On the other hand, if you want to get Disney stock and hold it for the long run, it probably isn't an awful buy. Disney, at some point, will likely rebound. We sold our off a few years ago as it started it's decline and we were able to pick it up again for $17 a share :):):). I don't think you have to worry about Disney becoming worthless (although stranger things have happened).

Keep in mind that I'm not a financial expert...just my opinion.

Not for quick, for long term for my boys. Age 1 and almost 5. It would be invested for at least 15yrs.

My guess would also be no.

I bought most of our Disney holdings back in 2002 when the price dropped down to the 14's. I personally think the current price will drop down to the previous levels of 24 - 25 after the shareholder meeting and once this Comcast stuff dies down. I haven't seen many people who think it will go much above 30.

I very rarely buy single stocks though. I mostly stick to index shares to try and diversify my holdings.

Hooo eee!! Been there, done that, same word in fact!

Disney stock, like any other stock, you never really know which way it'll go. Could go up, could go down......good luck trying to decide whether to buy or not.....and THEN, how MUCH to buy!

Toby...

For the most part we are very safely diversified as well. We're in different managed accounts, but there are a few personal favorites that we have small amounts of stock in: Disney, Krispy Creme (KKD), Coke.

Like I said above...I'm not a financial expert. I feel much better keeping my money in the hands of someone who is an expert. That's why we've gone with managed portfolios.

MONKEY BOY........don't you know anything can be bought? Seriously. But, it is public and I purchase through sharebuilder.com. You can buy all kinds of stocks there.

Ok, for those of you who say no. How about Comcast? With them wanting to invest in DIS, if that doesn't go do you think they will go for something else?

I know these are all opinions.

Please for give me on 2 accounts

1) my typo (now corrected)
2) I am aware Disney Company is public, I thought the OP was saying the DIS ( as in this site).

It's early, please excuse me :p
