I live in Ga. know for heat and humidity from H###. Well I went to Disney ONE time in August I was in my twenties then. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, again in August or July. Believe me.
We have gone in August and it was hot, but very doable. Keeps lots of water with you, and take breaks. We found it was worth going in August for the free dining, and value season. It wasn't crowded, and it cooled down as the sun set earlier than in June and July as someone else mentioned. We swam alot. Used alot of sunscreen.
We found it unbearably hot in August and July! We have family from England, and since they are all out of school the month of August we went with them a couple of years ago. It really was SO hot - we tried all the suggestions, but it was very tiring and some crowds especially with the UK travellers there for free dining. I love Disney so much that I will suffer through any weather to be there - but if we can avoid that time of year we do.
If you can't avoid it - just go with it and be prepared! Some of the characters I've heard wear iced body packs under their costumes - a CM could confirm or deny this rumor about how they manage the heat?
