I have been a lurker for a while and a AKV DVC owner for 3 years I decided I will not be a lurker any more
Our next family vacation to the world will be Thanksgiving week 2012 AKV CL 11/17/12 -11/27/12 :cloud9 My DD will turn 8 on the 25th and I will be happily married 14 years on the 27th

Hello AKL friends!

Well we are officially heading back to AKL in May (5/26 - 6/3). We spent 5 glorious days there several years ago (and as ME pulled away we realized it simply wasn't enough time!) . We vowed we would be back - but for the past 4 trips the economy has dictated that we spend our vacation at a Value. We have had wonderful times there...but we painfully discovered on our last trip that our kids are bigger, and we are older - and we are actually needing some quiet and relaxation on our vacations (imagine!) - so we all agreed we need to go back to Deluxe resorts, even it if meant waiting longer until we return -The time has come for us to go back and play with Mickey..so we took a family vote and all agreed on AKL.
Our initial plan was to book a pool view room again (loved our location last time)..BUT we now have a Disney Adult - DD will be 10 on our next trip... - so the Dining Plan is definately OUT. That factored with the idea that we plan on spending lots of down time enjoying the resort, I am seriously considering CL. I have run the numbers a million times and I really think CL will work for us. Plus I am sooo in LOVE with the idea of the Sunrise Safari:.
The BudgetEAR in me keeps giving me a bit of trouble in pulling the trigger on the CL price...but we shall see!
Sorry for the long rant - but count us in for AKL 5/26 - 6/3. WHERE exactly will we end up there..????..

I found CL more than worth the money. I'd say especially with kids. Glad you're going back!

Bob looked at me around 1:30 a.m. on New Year's Eve and said, "This is the latest the two of us have stayed up on NYE in decades! The girls didn't have to wake us up to wish us a Happy New Year!"

Laura - Please tell JD I have become a power napper too. I seem to fall asleep every time I sit down in my wing back and the TV is on.

Speaking of planning a trip.... Brandi, would you please add me to December 2012? Come heck or high water we are going to be back at WDW for Christmas. After all, where else would I want to be when the world ends???? As of right now the dates are 12/21-26 at BoardWalk Villas. That could change... I am jockeying for OKW this trip and you never know with us!

Was considering booking Lunch w/an animal expert @ Sanaa, but dont want to spend the $100 for the 2 of us, it's more food than he usually eats...I'd love the experience, but not on a budget.

Hope everyone had a great New years! Mine was ok, I worked New Years Eve day, and fell asleep that night by 10:30 and I worked New Years Day 3pm-11pm, did go to brunch first which was fun.

I love them Brandi...I got DD14 the sketch blue wristlet for Christmas, the one thing I got a reaction...lol..Could not find purple anywhere in Dec, and now its back online! ugh!

Hi everyone! Ok, I have a question about Kidani. My BFF just got offered some points for her trip in Feb so she's considering switching over (currently has reservations at Pop). We've both stayed at Jambo but have never visited Kidani - what can you guys tell me? Her main question is food court, is there one or do u have to walk to Jambo? How far is the walk? It's her, her DH, her DD(14) and her DS(6). Thanks for any information!

Lobby to lobby the walk is less than 10 minutes maybe 5 to 7 minutes, and there is a shuttle that runs between them....

The only place I know to eat at Kidani is Sanaa. I know that Jambo house has Mara, Jiko and Boma.
