Maybe that's why I don't get sick either! Fleas and mosquitos don't seem to like the taste of my blood as well, perhaps too much wine pulsing through them! :lmao:

Well this morning it is wine for me.... Had sangria for brunch and David had bloody Marys.....

You go Alison....:thumbsup2

Good morning all :surfweb:

Happy Sunday!! :goodvibes

Stay warm, Laura. :cold: Luckily, here in Georgia, we haven't had a taste of winter yet.

Short, busy week. The grocery stores were slammed yesterday. Today is the first day in many Atlanta area cities that we will be able to buy alcohol on Sunday! :woohoo: I will be purchasing today!!! :yay: (it's the little things that make me happy!)

Wishing you all a magical day! pixiedust:

morning and now afternoon.....

Laura, congrats on Sunday sales..... When I moved to Maryland from Alabama I was so surprised that you could "buy" on Sunday.

Hello everyone! I'm getting very excited about our trip. We'll be at AKL in a pool view room Dec. 14-21. We've stayed there once in 2003 in savannah view and I've always wanted to go back.

I have a question I haven't been able to find an answer to. My hobby is photography and I've already told DD9 that I will be going off sometimes just to take pictures. I've seen maps of AKL but there is no indication of where north is in relation to the lodge. Where would be good places to catch the sunrise and sunset? Our plane doesn't land until 5:30 so it'll be dark by the time we arrive at AKL. I want to be prepared first thing in the morning to be in a good spot so I don't miss anything wandering around looking to see where the sun is coming up.

We're planning on spending our first day at the resort with maybe a trip to Downtown Disney in the evening.

Thanks!

If you looked straight through the lobby to the pool and then onwards that would be looking North...

 Heading out to make my purchases now!! (I think we have to wait until 12:30pm on Sundays, which is fair enough!) ;)

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

Thanksgiving shopping is done (I think), so I a relaxing today. :yay:

I have been doing my best to follow Dr. Brandi's cure-all: Beaujolais Nouveau on Thursday night, Pumking Ale on Friday and a double Aspen Old-Fashioned when I got home last night. Still have the cold, but looking forward to my meds today. ;)

Elin.... This made me laugh out loud.... I hope that cure all works for you, it seems to work for me too....

I hope you feel better soon, David and I had too much for brunch today... Maybe I can get the photos of my phone soon and share...

That is awesome... Have fun with your first Sunday Purchase.... Please come back and let us know what you got....

Are you talking about the DVC Villas or the AKL suites? The only rooms on Club Level are the DVC Villas (there are very few). The (non-DVC) Resort Suites are on different levels and I am not even sure where they're located within the resort. :confused3

They are AKL suites, not DVC. Just hoping to keep our two families close together.

I would call the reservation hotline and tie the two reservations together, that will be your best chance in getting rooms close to each other.

My thought was that the Sunset Savannah was to the West of Jambo house, but Brandi's post below seems to contradict that.

You go girl!

Could someone please give me some information on the one & two bedroom club suites? Is it possible to have adjoining rooms if one party is in one bedroom ste and the other in a two bedroom ste? Are we guaranteed a savannah view on club level? Thank you!

Four years ago before we were DVC we got a club level one bedroom. The actually upgraded us to a two bedroom. Our room was located at the very very end of the hallway off the right side of the lobby. We were not on the horseshoe, but off the leg that forked to the right at the elevators. I don't know if there were other suites around us or not. We had two different views from our different bedrooms as we were on a corner at the end of the hallway.

If you looked straight through the lobby to the pool and then onwards that would be looking North...

i thought that was East, but you've been there more recently than I have. :confused3

ok so let me get my thinking in words here and see if I am right.....

When we walk into the lobby we also stay CL and if you are standing in the lobby looking out the back of the resort, or in the CL lounge and looking towards the pool, we have always stayed to the left of the lounge...

and we have watched the sun set every night.... So am I wrong in thinking that North in is looking straight out towards the pool from the lobby?

if you go to Google Maps and search for Animal Kingdom Lodge, Orlando, Fl you will bring up a map of the area and North is always 12 o'clock on the map, so the direction I was telling you is close to 1 o'clock which would be north by north east, but close enough for a picture I am sure.....

Now this is only tru if you are staying at Jambo House........

Great pictures Kay! What floor were you on?

4284 is on the 4th floor. We were at the end of one of the sections that projects out from the main wing (so maybe a bit more than half way down the trail). I'm not sure if there is a resort map posted anywhere on this thread.

We were told that the Sunset Savanna was so named because you can watch the sunsets from this area. Since the sun sets in the west, wouldn't this area of the hotel be predominantly facing west?

This picture was taken July 4th while we were having lunch at Sanaa.

My godson and his family, he is 3, his brothers are 7 and 9 and his Mom and Dad are pulling in to WDW AKL Kidani Village right now!

They are all so excited, the last time my godson was there he was in his mommies tummy....

I am so excited for them to see AKL, they have never been there... It took we a little while to convince them to go... but they are pulling in right now......

This was a great idea, it totally shows where all the directions face, and everyone was pretty much correct, in their descriptions.
