hi y'all! Can't believe how time flies! We will be back at the world so soon!
Question for you experts - I really don't want to drive so does anyone have any suggestions/experience/info about catching cabs (if necessary of course) to and from the parks? Where do you get a cab at AKL? Does someone help you? DD is obsessed with the opening shows so we really want to make rope drop - so I may need to get some cabs!
Thanks everyone in advance! Hope everyone had a great monday!

Sharyn,

Cabs are easy to get -- just tell Bell Services you need a cab and if one isn't sitting out front, they will get it there usually within 5 minutes.

That will be a pretty expensive way to do the parks though. The buses start running very early in order to get people with 8:00am ADRs to the parks. Just make sure that you're not going to the park on an EMH day as they usually don't do the opening show those mornings.

So, for instance, when MK opens at its regular time (9:00am), you could catch a bus from AKL around 7:30 or 8am and still have lots of time to stand around and wait for the show! :thumbsup2

The plan is to totally be at bus stop around 7:30 for MK. 8 for AK and maybe between for Epcot.? what do you think? Just want a back up plan just in case - you know? Just a little nervous about the distance - last 2 trips we were on the monorail/drove lots so I was totally spoiled....

....you shouldn't have posted this pic....the two yellow things in the middle looks like b**bs - and the upper right rasberry looks like a hidden Mickey...:rotfl:

Oops, I did not make this connection. I did however spot the hidden Mickey and that is why I chose it.

Sounds like a good plan to me! Those times should work out great! :thumbsup2 The distance to the parks isn't bad at all - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

So the only time you should need a cab would be after Illuminations on 10/2 and we will be with you until you & Abby get safely into the cab. :goodvibes

....I suggest reading my OP...there is a little something about this....:thumbsup2

Hi Kimmar! :) I did read the OP, and maybe I overlooked somewhere, but I only found information on why the Arusha view is the best. There wasn't really a comparison of the Sunset and Uzima savannah - which is the category I am in, didn't pay extra for Arusha :) Although it did help for floor request!

We were wondering where you were. :confused3 The other thread got locked up late last night. :sad1:

YAY for your reservation! I'm sure more than once your family will be grateful for the extra bathroom! (wise choice!) :thumbsup2

Yeah :confused3, somehow the week went by & I realized that I hadn't been on all week. Gee I really need to do better.

Well I can finally announce that we are BOOKED!!!! We will be staying at AKL Jambo house in a Standard-Studio April 11th-20th:yay::cool1::cheer2: so we will be on the 5th floor correct?

So if you booked at DVC room, even through the normal reservation process, yes, you will be on the 5th floor.

Good evening, Jamborinis and Kidanites! :sunny:

Better late than never! I read everything, just don't have any time to comment except to say "thank you" for the nice comments on Bob's appearance. I started three new classes today, taught 6 private lessons and did a free introductory lesson for another class. I am exhausted tonight! See y'all tomorrow! :wave2:

....well, my apologies too - guess I didn't thoroughly read YOUR post.... The Sunset Savannah has ostriches (at least itdid when we last stayed at Jambo House) and Uzima affords more views of the giraffes....

HELP  and PD :wizard: PLEEEEEASE !!!

I've met my new class : only 19 pupils ( maybe one or two more will arrive next week ) , but ... many "issues" !!! Help !!!:upsidedow

I’ll have a boy from China , a girl with anorexia , an adopted boy (from Bolivia ) who lived … on the streets for the first 4 years of his life . I’ve already met him – outside of our school , he is still suffering from his past severe privations … poor kid , he doesn’t trust anyone but his “new” parents … We also have a kid “potentially” aggressive , with recently splitted parents …and a girl from Denmark ( not sure if she can speak Italian ).
But the pupil who makes me worry the most is a boy who is “psychologically disturbed” …
To be honest with you , I am not happy to have all these “difficult” kids in the SAME classroom , I’m afraid that there will be fighting and too many troubles .
I’ve talked about all of this with my head teacher … but we need to accept all the kids who apply for our classes ( the school needs MONEY) and I am the only teacher in the 1st course with “ patience and the necessary background” - words of my head teacher !!!

I know I’ll do my best – and I feel I already love those kids – on top of all though I have a brand new colleague ( for Maths ) , so we’ll also need to learn how to work together , she should be my “help”.

Sorry , I wasn't meant to rant ... but I needed to talk to friends !! :grouphug:

THANKYOU for listening to !!

HAPPY WEEK to each of you !!!! laura

You can do it -- and I know you can make a positive difference in these kids' lives. We are here for you any time you need to vent or seek advice. :grouphug:

Oh, Laura! You have a nightmare on your hands, I fear. You are so sweet that I know you will relate with these children in a loving way and hopefully help to make this a great year for all of you. I would be certain to keep a written record of any incidents as well as report them to your head teacher. Set very strong limitations for the entire class and make them abide. If they know you are in charge I know things will be fine. But make certain to keep your head teacher informed of everything.
