Is it too late to plan a trip for late June early July?

Im a Dis vet but never have I attempt a last minute trip. I'm will aware of the common factors when visiting WDW during the summer months. However, I also know how to plan for those things so that don't really bother me. Its more about the window of time. I have some free time coming up before my busy season and figured why not take a 8-10 day trip to Disney.

If you go early July, you won’t be any further behind picking fast passes than people staying off site. Right?

In recent years we only do last-minute trips, and they’re always wonderful! Grab same day, or day-before FPs and do whatever you feel like at the time.

Agree you should absolutely go, and since you have so much time, take advantage of things like Yeeha Bob, boat rentals, relaxing at your resort and using all the amenities. If you're staying at an Epcot resort, enjoy SAB, if on the monorail, rent a Cabana for the day. Do a monorail crawl.
Please let me fill your days, please please, please!!!:jumping2:

Get three early am fast passes, even if they're not "exactly" what you want, then as soon as you've scanned your 3rd FP, refresh, refresh, refresh. You'll be able to get plenty that way!
Eat at odd times at counter service spots you haven't tried. Nosh your way through the parks and plan a later dinner at your resort.
Omygoodness the possibilities are endless!!!
:thumbsup2

I would definitely go for it! We had to book a quick vacation using DVC points that were about to expire. It was too short of a trip, but we had a great time staying at a resort we’ve never visited before. I would not hesitate - it’s Disney, after all! :flower1:

Go for it! As long as you are okay if you maybe don't get FP for FoP or 7DMT, you'll be fine! Our trip was supposed to be 5/30-6/9, but we had to reschedule it the other day. Now we are going from 6/7-6/18. I re-planned it all about 12 days out.

At the beginning of this month my daughter and I booked a vacation exactly 1 week before we left. Other than the airfare being crazy high, it was an amazing trip. We were able to get all the ADR’s we wanted even BOG and we were able to ride everything we wanted. So I say go for it. I think you will have a wonderful time!!

Is this a rhetorical question? lol

Of course not! We are locals with passes, and sometimes get up and decide to go that day! Even if we want a TS meal, you would be surprised how many reservations are open same day. Also, there will be fast passes open up too. Just keep checking. We love of spontaneous Disney days!

For seasoned visitors I think this is a great option. I recently planned a short trip about 1 1/2 weeks in advance and it was so much fun! I got both of the ADRs I wanted (BoG dinner and Via Napoli). I got all of the FPs I wanted too, except 7DMT, so we just rode that at close. It’s all about expectations.

My first trip to Disney was planned one week out, and planning was a breeze. Next trip, I booked months ahead and couldn't get any ADRs I wanted, but then a week before I checked the app and everything suddenly opened up--all the hoarders were finally dropping the 4 BOG reservations they got just in case. Last-minute trips to WDW are easy.

I agree with the others, have planned a week out and everything was fine. Well, the weather was awful but we just rolled with it. It was one of our Most memorable trips! I hope you go for it and have an amazing trip!
