My DH and I are going to Disney July 17-22. We've had a couple of different ADR's scheduled for the night of the 17th, but after discussing it (okay, me rambling to him about it in the car, him listening and nodding!) I think we'd rather not have dinner plans (we can do counter service or order a pizza) since we don't know what exact time we'll arrive at the park that day and we don't want to have to rush off to dinner... but since we are on the dining plan, we need another ADR for later in the week. We were thinking about trying to do a lunch ADR the day we are at the Magic Kingdom. Do you think there's any chance we can still get an ADR? Or should we just keep our original plans??

You should at least try. I called last night to make an adr for my parents. It is for 2 weeks away (July 3rd) and they had their pick of times at San Angel Inn. They now have a 6pm reservation. So I'd at least call and try, it worked for us!

I would call and try to get one, you can always cancel it if you don't use it. On our way down last year I decided we would eat in the TS in AKL. I called from my cell and there were none to be had. The CM recommended that when we checked it to get the front desk to call the restaurant and maybe a table could be found. Sometimes they save a few for guest checking in. I will never do that again. I would at least make one and then cancel it on the way down if you don't want it.

you never know till you try!... if it's a no-go just keep your original plans. no harm done :)
