Is it TOO HOT for backpacks in late Aug?

Just wondering if I should pack one. We used one in December, but it wasn't very hot. I am wondering if it will be too uncomfortable to wear a backpack all day in the heat and humidity of August? Any thoughts?

No way I can answer that one for you....it depends on your tolerance for heat. It will be VERY hot and VERY humid.

I would not wear one in August...I wore a backpack to a local zoo here in New England one July and it was unbearable!! My back was completely covered in sweat...I can't imagine how much worse it would be in Florida in August. For our trip this August, I bought a medium sized messenger bag to hold our essentials.

We went for 7 days last August and carried a back pack. The frozen water bottles were great against the back and we didn't over stuff! We're going again this Juky and the back pack is coming with us again! But like the other thread said, it is about your tolerance. We're from Canada so a little heat is alot of heat for us ... and we managed fine

We usually always go in the summer and take a backpack with us to carry everything in it and we take turns carrying it so the heat and carrying the bag doesnt bother us..

I have done it also. It is hot weather your carrying a backpack or not, so might as well have the stuff you need... That is if you need it!

I took my backpack off almost every time we were standing still. When we were walking, I sometimes let the backpack dangle from one shoulder, but if it's heavy that's not too good for your back.

its always hot, humid and rainy, so go with what you want to do....good luck~

It will be hot in August. Have you considered taking the backpack to the park and renting a locker for the day. You could go back to the locker much more easily than your hotel room for supplies.
