My husband, five year old daughter and I just got back from our first ever Disney World vacation on 4/1/11. It seems that I have been just a little obsessed with anything and everything Disney since then. (As is little Emma!) We have watched a disney movie at least twice a week, and I find myself still perusing the boards here and even checking wait times for rides on my iPhone. We are soooo ready to go back! Do you guys think it's too early to start planning our October 2012 return to the World? Where would you start considering it's that far away? We want to go earlier than that, but Emma starts Kindergarten this fall, and we just have a lot of other things going on. What do you guys suggest?

The 2012 WDW Resort Packages will be released the first week of August 2011. You can book your 2012 fall trip then. If discounts, such as room discounts or free dining come out you can add them later to your existing reservation.

I completely understand your obsession! I'm there too! We have been twice, both in Dec 09 and Dec 10. I'm schemeing to find a way to go back in Dec 2011. C'mon Free Dining! ;)

And, IMO, it's NEVER too early to plan your next trip! :)

Welcome to the DIS...there are lots of those obsessives here. I planned our December 2009 trip starting in 2006....so a year and a half is not too early for me!

But generally, I really start planning about a year in advance. If you know when you are planning to go in October of 2011, you can look at the things going on around the parks (Halloween party, Food and Wine...etc) and decide what you want to hit. I also use the times schedule from the year before to plan out our schedules. So right now, we currently are planning Nov 2011 -so I really started on that last September / October.

I don't think it's too early! We're not going til March of next year, but I'm already planning our trip's itenerary. LOL
Welcome to the board!! :D

Free dining would definitely be awesome! I'm actually sitting here right now planning out places we would like to eat and weighing the cost OOP versus the dining plan. Free dining would be awesome! popcorn::

Yep...I'm super excited about MNSSHP and Food & Wine. DD5's school has a week for fall break in October, so it will be perfect! :thumbsup2
