Is it too early to book a car for December?

Hi!

I found a pretty good rate for a rental car at Alamo, do I book it now?

If I do, am I charged the whole thing right now or not until we pick it up?

If you found a good rate, I would book it asap. I booked already for my trip over New Year's. As far if they charge you, I am not sure with Alamo, but every other company that I have booked through (Dollar, Thrifty, EZ) they just hold the reservation and you are not charged until you pick it up. My advice would be to book it, but keep checking the rates, because there usually is no penalty to cancel and re-book again if you find something better.

Mission Disney is completely correct. Book it now so that will be your WORST possible rate. Keep checking back and your rate may go down. If it goes up, you will have locked in your rate. If it goes down you can cancel and rebook with no penalty. And you will not be charged one penny until you pick up the car and give them your credit card.

It's never too early to book with Alamo. They do not charge anything until you either pick the car up, or dont show up without cancelling.

Continue to watch the prices and if they drop, you can always book a new reservation at the lower price and then cancel your old one..

Make sure you keep checking the rate. I booked w/Alamo a "standard" sized SUV for $170 total for a week. Kept checking, almost daily, and ended up getting it for $118 total. I also had a $25 coupon from the Entertainment Book.

Book it!! If you do not do the prepay there is no penalty to cancel. If it is the pre pay I believe it is only a $5 penalty fee to cancel.

Book ahead and keep an eye on it. If the price comes down, book the new price and cancel the old ressie.
