that appeals to people here on the board? (even better if you got free dining)

For me it is more the not having to cook and do the dishes more than the food because I consider myself a good cook and we eat really well at our house.

I like the idea of trying different restaurants and maybe new foods (although I've tried lots of different foods at this point).

I tried to book TS that suited where we would be on which day and that sounded interesting and maybe usual. I'm not booking places for the biggest bang for the buck.

Could I feed myself really well for the cost of the DDP - yep! Here's some examples:

I'm feeding my family of 5 on items I bought at grocery stores not items that I purchased in bulk like Disney.

Wednesday, we had grilled tuna steak, asparagus, corn on the cob, brown rice medley for a cost of about $3 per person.

Thursday, we had grilled salmon, asparagus, brown rice medley and fresh strawberries for about $3 per meal.

Tonight, we are all having chicken sausage with basil and sun dried tomato, rice medley, corn of the cob and broccoli for less than $3 per person.

Even if I fed my family appetizers and desserts I could do it for around $5 per person.

I have 3 boys, 10, 7 and 3. The two older boys eat more than I do and the 3 year old eats his fair share but not as much as the adults.

I am so looking forward to 8 days of no cooking or dishes. Yea. :cool1:

All of our TS meals are character meals - that's why we do them, otherwise we'd mostly do CS. We eat out a lot all the time.

Its both for me. The food :cutie: And the convenience of it being pre-paid (no sticker shock at the end of the meal). I am not trying to squeeze every last cent I can out of the DDp. I plan on OOP breakfasts, CS lunches, and TS dinners. 6 out of the 9 I have planned are buffets or fam style for just under $30 pp (CMs, Ohana, etc...) One of those, Donalds Breakfast, on our departure day, I will pay OOP, unless we have left over credits (I might, if I order only an entree, and Iced Tea at Le Cel, PT 50s, and Mama Mels, and share a bit of DHs ap and dessert, which is how we usually eat at TS anyway)

W/out thye DDP, I would never have indulged in the luxury of daily TS at the end of the day. It is so worth the $39 pd/pp. I havent even done it yet, and I know it was a wise decision for us:goodvibes

It's really a mixture of both for us. DH is really into the "all-inclusive" thing. I planned our ADR's for restaurants that looked interesting. The only one will be repeating this time is Kona. I am so looking forward to 6 days of no dishes and no "what should we have for dinner?" convos.

I too cook nearly every day of the week. I cook pretty well and am often making interesting things with new or different ingredients. I do enjoy the break from cooking while on vacation, but honestly with the villa I do not mind cooking--not as elaborately as I would at home of course, but still. I like the DDP for the variety of food it provides as well as the convienience of it being prepaid. I have never looked for biggest bang for my buck, but rather what sounded new, different or interesting and was where I wanted to be on a given day. We do use ours for signature dining as well since we do enjoy the foods we've had in the restaurants as well. Even just a character meal for a family of four all considered adults, I am at least breaking even with the TS credits so I really do not worry about that aspect of the plan. I like that everyone tries new things--through WDW I have been able to expand both of my children's palates in a fun and interesting way--after numerous discussions with many of the chefs, my children have been encouraged to try things they may have otherwise put their noses up at. An example would be DD seeing the word Goat Cheese several times and wondering what was different about goat cheese, she talked to the server, she said she'd bring her a few tastes of different varieties, however the chef wasn't too busy so he came out and talked with her and shared the different tastes and textures, let her sample and now, well she had broadened her tastes. Similiarly with different seafood dishes, sushi, etc.

It's a mixture for me as well. I like being able to try restaurants I normally wouldn't have tried before. I like being able to order anything on the menu without regard to price. I like treating myself to a dessert at every meal. :rotfl: And most of all, I like the convenience. I like that I don't have to worry about the bill at the end of the meal. I'll never do Disney without the DDP, not as long as they have it anyway.
