I see where you're coming from. I just think that, as acwinsett pointed out, if the guests gave the couple, say, a crock pot and they didn't want it, they'd exchange it for something else or (at Bed, Bath & Beyond) turn it into cold hard cash anyway!

this is a tough thing. My DF and I have lived together for two years, so we pretty much have everything that we need for our home. We did register for things that would be an upgrade tp what we have, but I hate it. I like my stuff, and I was told the real tackyness of it all is asking for money.

My take on it, is do what you want, if someone thinks its tacky too bad.

I think its fine. Everyone wants to give you something you want. If you don't want anything for your house then travel is the next best thing.

Carrie is right - everyone is asking if its tacky and its something that most disney brides do anyway....

We had a relative recently get married and they had a DisneyMoon registry. We all thought it was a great idea because they too had been living together for a while and have everything they need for a home. The site for the DisneyMoon registry was neat........they picked out the stuff that they had intended to do or would like, anything from hot coco packages in their room to dinners at any of the resort resturants and spa treatments. We got to pick "increments" .....each increment was a different dollar value depending on what the activity was. You didnt have to buy all of them, you could just choose to buy one if you wanted. I would recommend it for anyone. I work in the bridal industry, and this is becoming more the rage. As far as anyone getting offended, they will get over it or get you something different.

they did it with first choice

but i received the thomas cook broucher for wedding and honeymoons and they have a honeymoon registery
