I will be 40 this year:eek: on the 28th. We always have friends in after Christmas and this year my birthday falls on a Sat. I still want to have friends in. DH thinks it is odd for me to do all the work of a party on my birthday. He wants to take me out. But I want friendsover for the holidays and the date works. In the past I have always shyed away from parties to celebrate my birthday and have had huge Christmas open house on my actual birthday but didn't tell a sole! So what do all of you think is it tacky for me to invite my friends, tell them it is for my 40th and clean, cook decorate etc? I love having people in and that date works for me! So why not turn it into a celebration? What do you think?

I say party down!!! If it's what you want for your birthday, go for it!

If you normally have friends over that time of year, and you are not asking for gifts (but hey maybe you'll get some anyway) go ahead, life is short. You could pretend DH is throwing it for you.

It's your party thorw it if you want to. Have fun whatever you do.:bounce:

Go for it!! My uncle actually threw himself a party for his 40th in October and no one thought it was tacky. :)
