Is it safe/okay to do this?

Hold two reservations for the same time period? I need 5 nights and there is no availability during the time I need. I found 4 nights at SSR and 3 at AKV.
I reserved both, with a different lead person on each reservation, then made a wait list for the one night and another for the missing two nights. As soon as I get one, I plan to cancel the other. Is it okay to do this or considered improper? Is there a chance that MS will cancel one or both if they deem them duplicates? I've had all 5 nights reserved at VWL for months but cancelled because of the pool closing .

You are fine to do that. Just make sure you cancel one before your banking window if you will bank some points this UY, and also that you don't hold both more than 31 days out.

MS won't cancel because members reserve more than one room all the time for family reunions, etc.

Drop it to a single reservation when you get what you want, or before the above mentioned two deadline windows. Otherwise you're good as is.

By the way, I'm also a VWL member who has my home resort booked during the closing. The hidden springs pool will remain open, and the initial indication is that we can use the contemporary pool as well. The boat ride there might seem inconvenient- but it actually might be faster and easier than walking to the Kidani pool from the Kidani rooms at the end of the resort...everything is relative. Ms will not cancel two reservations. We will be doing two reservations for real soon for next June as I want a 1 bedroom and a studio for my adult daughter who may change her mind so I don't want to book a lock off and not be able to cancel

I have booked three different rooms for the same time period at SSR, for a family get together. No problem with booking multiple rooms.
