Is it really THAT bad?

We had lunch there once and it was really good, espcially on a wicked hot day because it is so dark and cool inside.

I had a pasta/shrimp dish that was very good and my daughter had the 'space mush'

We just got back yesterday and would go again. I had the reuben, husband had the turkey sandwich, and my son had a grilled chicken breast. It was very good and yes we did enjoy the air conditioning as well.

Have a great time!

My husband and I have eaten at this restaurant twice and both times the food was good...my husband got the Rueben both times and loves it!! I have had the Chicken Ceasar Salad and one of the sandwiches(can't remember if it was the turkey or ham) and it was also good. For dessert we got the Big Bang Sundae and it was very yummy :)

Maybe we just had a good chef that day, I don't know. We had the Flat iron steak skillet for lunch and we really liked it. But then again after eating burgers and fries anything else is an improvement. :teeth: Serious, I thought it was really good. The atmosphere is 1/2 , food the other 1/2 IMHO. Tried it once, glad we did.

:)

How is the seating......I mean I know how you sit, but just wondering (after seeing it on food network & pictures here) how well it works for shall we say "pooh sized" folks! :wave2:

It just looked small to me, am I crazy? :rolleyes1
Thanks

We had a great lunch there in 2003. Not sure I would go back except for lunch.

We've eaten at Sci-Fi everytime we go to WDW. It is my must do. I always get the Reuben sandwich and chocolate milkshake and it has always been delicious. We always go there for lunch as we've been a few times for dinner and were more impressed with the lunches. Another thing I love is that the atmosphere is really cool and it's quiet! I don't know if it's because everyone is watching the screen but the last couple of times we've been there you can almost hear a pin drop. It has always been such a nice escape for us.

Of course, I almost never go on other people's opinions or what books say. Everyone (almost everyone ;) ) rants and raves about how great Boma is and it was by far the worst meal I've ever had at WDW in all of our trips, well that and Coral Reef.

Not all of the seating is cars. They do have several tables available if you're concerned about having room. The cars are nice but they're not very big. My brother and I were touching elbows the whole time

We've eaten there numerous times and have never had a bad meal. We've had the burgers and fries, bbq chicken sandwich, turkey sandwich and in Dec we tried the ribs. We've enjoyed every meal there. Maybe we are one of the lucky ones. Don't expect anthing gourmet but I find it quiet tasty and you can't beat the atmosphere.

We had lunch there as well and loved it! The burgers were good and the milkshakes were ok, kinda reminded me of a frosty but not bad. The atmosphere was awesome. In fact, this is one of the places my kids definitely want to visit on our next trip!

We really enjoyed eating at Sci Fi. We all got something different and our meals were good. The atmosphere is too cool to miss out on!!! We would go back. :thumbsup2

They put booze in the milkshakes. 'nuf said.

(OK, I think the food is OK, I liked my rueben, my husband's burger was good, nothing exceptional. Portions are really large (but that might be the malts). And I agree, if I were paying that price for that food without the atmosphere, it would be a bad deal. But this, like a character meal, is one that you aren't doing for the food.)

My husband and I went for the first time on our last trip and we loved it. No complaints at all. Food and service was awesome. Our server had me in stitches the whole time.

I had the Reuben for lunch- nothin' to write home about but not bad at all. Dh had steak sandwich and said same thing- not great but good. Ds 2 had chickn fingers- ate them all (big eater this kid), ds -4 had cheeseburger and didn't finish (may have been due to the big chocolate milkshake dh let him order-they were in the front seat and being a bit sneaky) and ds-15 had a cheeseburger as well. He complained that it was a kind of dry ??? but he said the onion rings were very good. We loved the experience- all the kids loved the old movies- ds 15 laughed aloud several times which is unusual for him. Great service- waitress was a lot of fun- loved picking on my shy 2 yo who would never look her in the eye. She must have walked by our table 6 x trying to engage him (I think he secretly enjoyed the attention) but she never got him to look at her! Also, DH and Ds-2 ordered their drinks w/ the glowing ice cubes- we kept the plastic ice cubes and they still work!

We love it there and we thought the food we ordered was great!!! It was a big hit with our kids!!:cool1:
