I checked weather.com and it said it felt like 112 degrees in Orlando. Is anyone there now, or just came back, that can tell me if it really felt that hot?

Where we live when the heat index goes over 100, especially when it's very humid, we get warnings to limit outdoor activity and stay indoors. But I can't imagine staying indoors when MK is so close!

I guess we'll be drinking lots of water and taking pool breaks.

we were told heat indexes of up to 105....so I do suppose 112 is possible.

We live at the coast and went to a park on the beach today--we have gone a couple of times earlier in the week midday--and today seemed exceptionally hot.

My friend form Wales was in Disney a couple of weeks ago--and the consensus of all park guests was that Animal Kingdom was SWELTERING. I am convinced that its design makes it the "hottest" park in summer and the most "coldest" park in winter.

Here--we just keep chugging water and taking "cool" breaks.

It has been very hot this week. This is the worst week so far this year. I went to let the dog out at midnight last night and it was still so hot and sticky.

The good news is that they said they are expecting a cold front in a couple of weeks. Not to say that it will get cold, but at least we will stop breaking heat records.

I hope you're right about a cold front coming through in a couple of weeks... we'll be there in a couple of weeks :cool1: . And hopefully the front won't come through with lots of rain.

We were at WDW the first week of Aug. and yes it was hot but managable. It wasn't any hotter there than it had been here in Ohio. The good part is that everything is air conditioned. We do not have air at home and it was nice to sleep with it for a week. If we got really hot we just sat and got a drink in a restaurant. Drink lots of water. The only place that felt really hot that week was AK but I think it is the hottest park anyway.

Good luck!!

I like Weather Underground and you can even check historical weather for your dates which is interesting, though not always a good predictor of what it will really be like especially in florida. but, I have found them to be right about current weather moreso than other sights.

thanks for the Weather Underground website. I found another one that shows 15 day forecasts with real feel numbers... its accuweather.com

Im in the heart of SC and theyve already posted heat advisories for this afternoon. Its going to be in the high 90s with heat indexes of 105-110! ICK! They did say a cold front will be coming through on Monday (down to 67 at night-yippee). Im glad I had my baby 6 weeks ago! It was hot then too, but not this bad.

I couldn't agree more!
We went at the end of July and found it to be far LESS humid that what we were dealing with in Southern Ontario -CANADA!! Very manageable and very beautiful! Soak it up because it'll be winter before you know it :cold:

We just got back two weeks ago and it was hot but not as bad as I thought it would be. However, we made sure we always got up early and got to the parks, went back to the resort around/or after lunch and swim/relax and then head back to the parks in the evening. I do recall though that our last full day there while at Epcot we about DIED of heat. I don't know if it's b/c we were worn out from the prior days or if it actually was that much hotter. The mister fans you can buy really help and make sure to drink lots and lots of water! If you pace yourself, I think you'll be fine.

We are 5 hours north of Orlando - in South Georgia and in all honesty, the past 2 days have been some of the hottest I can EVER remember. The heat index here has been 115-120 degrees!!!! :sunny:

Hopefully it will cool off - even a few degrees can make a big difference with our high humidity. But even if it doesn't, it just gives you an excuse to drink Lots of cold drinks, swim often and take advantage of air conditioned attractions. Have fun but do be prepared for the heat! ;)
