Is it possible to ride the Safari at 9am (it's start time) and make the 10am FOTLK?

Or is that cutting it too close? We will not have early entry but the Safari is not part of that.

It's highly unlikely. The safari can become delayed if some animals start crossing the roads, plus the lines for FOTLK become quite long. I would come up with a plan B if it doesn't work out.

Agree, its unlikely to work. If you are on the Safari ride vehicle at 9, you will be off about 9:30 at best, this puts you at FOTLK about 9:35-9:40. when we were there in October, getting in line 30 minutes before the show, meant you were in line for the show 90 minutes away. The line was down the bridge toward Pandora. If you have a LL, they want you in line 30 minutes before the show.

It’s best you decided to not try.

Disney info about the Safari says:
Your rugged safari vehicle is driven by an expert guide, who helps point out animals and shares fascinating wildlife facts during this extraordinary 18-minute expedition.

So, even if you got on right away at 9am, you wouldn’t be finished until 9:18 (assuming no delays) and would probably need at least 10 minutes to walk to FOTLK.
