We have limited time in EPCOT so we will not be arriving before 4pm. Is it possible to ride Soar'n without waiting over an hour? I am assuming FP will not be available by that time. My dd is really looking forward to this ride.

NO, NO, a thousand times NO!!!!
I always wanted to do that!!!! :goodvibes
Soarin' is REALLY popular, and for good reason. We enjoyed riding it last month, but you MUST have Fast Passes. I think the stand-by was anywhere from 85 to 120 minutes. I cannot imagine waiting that long for any attraction.
If you are going in a slow season you may get lucky with just an hour or so wait. I believe that FP for Soarin' and Test Track are finished by early afternoon. If you happen to be going on an Epcot evening EMH please note that the FP machines are opened again during the EMH so grab some right away.

I doubt it. We were there a couple of weeks ago and had fastpasses for later in the evening. Well, there was the usual afternoon thunderstorm and we thought the stndby line would be shorter. Nope. It stayed anywhere from 90 - 120 minutes long. Not worth it.

Was that a no?

Reasons for long waits w/o FP:

1) Popular ride

2) NEW ride

3) Takes a long time to load/reload

Soarin (EPCOT) falls into #1 & #2

Buzz Light (MK) year had lines like Soarin in 2003.

So if you want less of a wait - come back to WDW in 2007 :goodvibes

This is the one ride my DD wants to do at EPCOT - we will not be arriving until 11:30am - do you think we'll still be able to get fast passes for later that day?

At what time do the fast pass machines open back up for EMH - does the same apply for Mission Space and Test Track for EMH.

Also where in EPCOT can we pick up our wristbands??

At 11:30 am you will likely still get Fast Passes for both Soarin' and Test Track, but the return time will be many, many hours later to ride. For whatever reason we never had to use FP for Mission: Space last month. We rode on it maybe six times with very little wait. It was basically a walk on even though Test Track right next door had a huge line.
The FP machines for the evening EMH open up at the start of the EMH. They will close them as park closing time approaches or when they run out. For Soarin' and Test Track by 1 or 2pm they will be closed.
There are a number of locations in all the parks for wristbands. Check the info on allearsnet.com or wdwinfo.com.

There's no way you can do Soarin late in the day without a FP. When we were there in June, the standby line was 2 hours, and that was about 6:00. Some man in line started yelling because he'd been waiting so long and the FP people were practically walking right on. I felt kind of bad.

Hi!

If I were you I would try and get a fastpass for Soarin - if they don't run out. I was there several days ago and caught one of the last shows and I had to wait about 1hour 10minues :bitelip:

Have a great time!

We were at Epcot on July 3rd around noon. Got FastPasses for Soarin' for 4:30-5:30. Waited until after 2:00 and got FastPasses for Mission:Space for 3:30-4:30. FastPasses for Test Track were gone. Stand by for Soarin' when we returned was 120 minutes. Even with the FastPass, it took us 30 minutes to ride. Very slow loading attraction.

I don't think it is slow loading. I actually think the CM's do a wonderful job of getting the people in and out of their seats in a very timely manner. What I have encountered is that once you get thru the main entrance, there is still a long line, as if too many Fast Pass people were in there.

I wonder how many people Soarin' seats at one time. I know there are not the same amount of seats in each row, some have 7 and some have 8. I remember that from the "golden" arrows on the floor that we stood on.

We just got back yesterday from WDW. We got our fastpasses for Soarin around 11:00am and the return time was 3:30pm, I highly doubt you will be able to get one late in the afternoon. There is no way I would wait in line for over an hour, even though it is an awesome ride. :flower:

I rode Soarin, 3 times during our stay. I never waited more than 20 minutes. We went during early EMH on Tue. July 5. We entered at the International gateway and made a beeline for the Land. We were among the first people there. We loved it so much we got a FP when we got off. Hardly any wait in the FP line when we returned. I went back by myself Fri. the 8th. DH and DD were exhausted and just wanted to stay at the hotel, but I wanted just one more ride on Soarin'. I walked over to Epcot and got to the Land at 10 min to 9. Illuminations was about to start, FW was closing at 9, and the line for soarin was 20 min. long. Yippee!! One last ride. Walking back was quite an adventure too. I was trying to get back to the International gateway at the same time Illuminations ended. Talk about swimming upstream!

I might have just been lucky, but if you're willing to give up Illuminations on a non-late EMH day, I'd say you could get into Soarin' without much of a wait. By the way, the stand-by sign said there was a 90 min. wait, but it was way off.

Of course, those with the fast-passes had been waiting even longer. The difference is, they had just spent their waiting time doing other things.

LOL! :rotfl: Thats a funny quote.

Anyway I agree that you won't get on Soarin for a long long time. Best thing to do is get there first thing in the morning and then you can get on line or get a fastpass. Either way saves a lot of time.

I agree with the poster that said hit it during Illuminations.

I got into line at 8:59 and waited 15 minutes, no fastpass.

The wait tim said 120 minutes!!!

Most astute observation Cigar95 :earsboy:

Each theater holds 87 people. The top row gives you the best view of the screen and the scent effects. It’s pretty cool to smell the pine trees, citrus groves and ocean air. The wait is inside so 90 minutes really isn’t that bad.
