Is it possible to get AKL for NYE at 7 months?

We're proud new owners at BLT, but we want to make a trip for NYE with the BiL and his girlfriend so we wanted to get a 1 bedroom value at AKL. Is it possible?

A value is going to be difficult any day of the year at 7 months, let alone NYE.

We have 100 points with Dec UY, so we would bank 2011 points cuz we have 2010 banked and gonna use it on June 2011. For Dec 2012 would have 200 points (100 from 2011 and 100 from 2010, right?) then if we reserved 1 bedroom at BLT for the dates that we want would be somewhere between 250 - 260 points. If we borrow from 2013 and then we get to change to a room for less points, I know that the borrowed points can't go back, but can we use the borrowed points and bank the 2012 extra points? Did I make any sense?

Yes, you can allocate the borrowed points to be used first so you can bank the current year's points.

If you have enough points to stay in a 1BR at BLT, then you would have enough points for a SV 1BR at AKV. The biggest issue is whether or not there is any availability at any of the resorts at 7 months for NYE. I would say that you should book your BLT at 11 months (9AM exactly!) and then call at 9AM at the 7 month mark to see if you get any pixie dust! FWIW, I would think that being at the TOTWL on NYE would beat out being anywhere at AKV (or any of the DVC resorts for that matter) on NYE.

I agree with Kidanifan. We love going to WDW for NYE, but last year we had to go on a cash basis. We waited the 7months to try for AKL (we are SSR owners) and by then, it was too late to book ANY hotel using our points. It was very frustrating, but we did it anyway. The year before last, we had to convert our points to stay at Coronado. Book your home resort at 11 months, then try to switch hotels. Good luck!

Is it possible to make like a trade...find someone who owns at AKL and want to stay at BLT so we would make their reservation and vice versa. Do I make any sense?
