Is it possible to fire a TA without cancelling the reservation?

I'm less than thrilled with the service I'm receiving, so I'm wondering if I can "take back" my reservation or if I simply need to cancel and rebook?

Depends on the TA. Some will transfer for you, but I did this once and the AAA agent told me she couldn't just transfer it to someone else. (Someone beat the AAA rate by $900.) I just canceled the ressie totally and rebooked with the new AAA. Hated doing it, but $900 !

I don't know about that. But last year I wanted to add DU to my reservation I made myself. I had to fax Disney a letter with my confirmation number and details asking for my ressie to be switched to DU. You might be able to do the same thing but I doubt it b/c the TA owns your reservation. My guess would be you need to cancel and rebook. sorry.

I believe that the TA will have to cancel the recervation, then you'll have to book the reservation again. Once the reservation is the responsibility of a TA, Disney will not speak directly with you.
A reminder: Disney does not credit your account immediately upon cancellation. It usually takes a week or two to show up on your credit card. Good luck.

I have had a TA book a trip for me and was unhappy with the service, she couldn't get me an AP discount on the room, which I managed to get myself She transfered the reservation back to me. I would just cancel and rebook. I ended up canceling the ressies that she had made me and keeping the ones I had made.

Well, that just figures. The speediest response I've gotten yet was to my cancellation request. Go figure.

Anyway, that's taken care of. Now I just rebook!
