Is it possible to do WDW without reservations?

Aside from any current requirements, I'm talking about at some point in the future when things are hopefully back to normal. I've never been to WDW, only DL and I've heard people say WDW requires a lot of advance planning. I'm just wondering if it can be done without all the planning, as long as I'm ok if I miss some rides and dining experiences.

Well, sure. It depends on what you really prioritize in your trips. I could have gone the past trip without any sit-down reservations and eaten QS meals and depending on how Fastpass returns, you may have to do little to nothing on that front if you don't value big-ticket attractions.

It really depends on which kind of reservations you are enquiring about. If you are looking to go to a park at WDW, at least until Jan 2022 it is impossible to enter a park without a reservation. There is a good chance park reservations are here to stay but we don't know.

Dining reservations are not necessary unless you wish to eat at the locations that fill in advance. Occasionally you may find a reservation at the last moment but it's not guaranteed. Also, it may be more challenging to find dining at 'normal' meal times. If you're okay eating early or late then more options will be available to you at the last minute.
