Hi Folks,

I want to plan a 5-6 day trip to DLP and some sight seeing in December for our 20 year wedding anniversary. Probably our last great trip for next 5 years until last child graduates from college. So is that way to short of a time? Or should we just go to WDW? Was thinking of renting DVC pts. Not sure that would apply. Any insights would be appreciated

It's short, but possible for sure. It all depends on how much you want to see/do at both destinations.
Early December should be a good time in terms of crowds, as there are no holidays til the last week of December. DLP had a good Xmas season the last two years, so I hope they keep up that trend. Weather will be colder and chance of rain, but it's not fully winter yet.

For DLP, in 1 day you can see the highlights, with 2 days you can see both parks at a more relaxed pace, with 3 days you can really take our time and repeat favourites several times. (Going by low-mid season crowds, if it's during the Christmas break it will be busier, but not as busy as WDW)

For Paris, there is so much to do, you could spend two weeks there and not have seen everything.
Look at things like the Louvre, do you want to explore the entire museum top to bottom, or just snap a selfie with the Mona Lisa?
I would skip Versailles in Winter. It's very crowded, and the gardens will either be closed or just look depressing this time of year.

In my opinion, a 20 year anniversary is quite a milestone, and should be celebrated with something special. If you have been to WDW over a dozen times, how are you going to make this trip stand out from all the others?

Another good question/thread, as this is exactly what we are looking to do (just in March instead of December). We are flying in on a Monday morning and figured we'd do half day at the parks that day, plus 2 more full days. We are going to take a full day and go into Paris to see as much as we can, which leaves us with 1 more full open day. We haven't decided where we'll venture on our last day. :)

Hope you have a terrific time!

I know!!! IL married for over 65 years. Goal is to beat them! Taking a trip to WD parks around the world is on our bucket list, actually travel the world is on the bucket list. So planning on spending a day at DL and 1 day at Studio, next 3 days sight seeing Paris!

I would suggest to get 2 day park hoppers. Like Disneyland Anaheim, the parks are really close together, and park hopping from door to door takes 2 minutes.

Happy planning!

On first visit 3 nights is enough for park days.

Subsequent visits you can do in two nights.

As for sight seeing it depends how far you want to go. A day in Paris is enough for me.

You'll only need 2 days at the parks IMO. I'd spend the rest in Paris. The parks are very small. Depends on what kind of park person you are really, but we did both parks in one day, but we were also there in November and it wasn't crowded.

Thanks all, for the suggestions. Wife wants to go next year (09/02/19 is our actual 20th anniversary )for longer duration now which is fine.
