Hi all, I need some advice on how to get an extra 2/3 days from a 14 day holiday to Florida

I would like to stay down International Drive, The reason for this odd number of days is because on recent visits to Florida I always find the first and last day wasted due to travel to and from airport/checking in and out it always also seems to be that I land in Florida in the middle of the day and leave in the middle of the day (roughly 3pm) so it feels like a 12 day holiday rather than 14 days.

So I plan to add extra few days to settle in on first day and last day can be chilled at the hotel/pool/shopping etc

The problem I have is, I usually book my Florida trip through a website for example (florida4less) and when I go to book up a holiday for 16/17 days I get "sorry no search results" however if I put 14 days (2 weeks) or 21 days (3 weeks) I get the full list of hotels, unfortunately due to work commitment I cant take no more than 17 days off so 3 weeks will be too long.

Does anyone know how I can book up a florida deal for these number of days?

Worst case scenerio is there a way to plan a flight so I land in the evening at Florida so chances are on last day will leave in the evening (that way can fit universal/restaurants before leaving)

Thanks for readiing and hope someone can help :D

You can book however many days you like. Just book your flights and hotels directly/separately. This is our 12th trip in two weeks and never once booked a package. We have done 14/15/17/18/19/21 and 23 night holidays.
Always book flights first then accommodation separately. Far cheaper usually.

I always done packages on website which has been my problem and worried about doing separate case I cant match my flight to my hotel etc lol :O I think I did try but the hotel I wanted to stay at worked out more expensive? I may have done something wrong lol I will try again but I will remember flight first and hopefully I can work out a hotel to match :D well I glad to know it can be done now

We always have an irregular number of days. I always book flights first to get the best price (typically Skyscanner as it's great) and then book villas or hotels around those dates. Though hotel rates rise throughout the week, the amount of change is normally a lot less than varying the flight days.

Very few of us do package holidays, they are often too restrictive and too expensive.
Florida (or anywhere in the US) is so easy to do yourself and bypass a tour operator.
We go for as little as 9 nights or as long as 25 nights (our trip next month is 25 nights) or anywhere inbetween, very rarely do 14 or 21.

Just book flights and hotels separately - we never do package holidays and usually stay for an unusual number of days (usually 9-12 nights but have done up to 23).

Yes definitely as others have said and they normally work out cheaper than package deals, we are doing 17 nights this year !!

Another one who does odd number of nights - we have done 5 nights upto 16 nights.

Haven't booked a package since 2009! Always do DIY buy some companies will offer odd number of nights or try an independent TA.

Use a site like kayak or skyscanner to search for flights. Do consider indirect too - just have min of 2 hours transfer time at the first airport.

Don't stress about accomodation there is so much to choose from. If you have a particular hotel in mind trip advisor will show all the various sites prices for your dates.

Or just have a search around eg expedia or hotels.com.

Wow thanks for the replies everyone really appreciate it, didn't realise so many (well everyone who replied Taylor made their holiday)

The only problem I got now is I want to go September 2016 :$ over a year so I am having trouble finding flights this early do I need to wait nearer the time?

11 months out but I wouldn't rush into it for Sept flights, plenty of availability, book as soon as you are happy with the price.

It took me years to get up the confidence to book things independently instead of packages but its so easy to do and you have all the freedom you want then regarding length of stay - its definitely worth doing!

hi, you can book through Disney UK online or phone for 2016 for room and tickets only, then add your flights later, either through Disney or direct with an airline. if you book direct with the airline phone Disney with the flight booking number and it can be added to your booking so you can still add DME.
our first Disney holiday in 2007 was 16 days and found Disney's prices to be good.
this year we are going for 18 days, and booked through Disney for room and tickets with free dining, then phoned Disney 11 months out to book the flight. we had looked online at BA and Virgin prices before phoning Disney and their prices matched the airlines so booked direct with them. i have always been a believer that you need to book your flights as soon as they are release to get the best price(11 months out) for some reason i looked at Expedia at about 9 months out only to find i could have booked them cheaper by about £300, but that's the chance you take, personally i would rather book flights as soon as possible just for my own peace of mind .

cal:)
