Is it possible to be upgraded at BWV?

Since BWV is a DVC...has anyone ever been pleasantly upgraded when using points? We have a studio booked for November, prefered view...what are the odds of being upgraded to a one bedroom?

Pretty unlikely. Unless you have a reservation for the short period between the time when the Food & Wine Fest ends and Thanksgiving week begins, the resort is likely sold out or close to that.

We are DVC members at the Boardwalk. My parents decided to go down w/ us and we didn't have enough points to treat them. They decided to rent a studio w/ cash. We all checked in together and they told Dad his room wasn't ready yet. He said that was fine as long as he could be in a villa close to his granddaughter. The cm said no problem, went and talked to someone and came back w/ the card w/ his room number on it and said it would be ready by 4. This was about 1pm. Lo and behold, the room was right across the hall and A ONE BEDROOM PREFERRED VIEW TO BOOT! We were so excited for them!! And they loved the fact that their granddaughter (who was 4 at the time) could go across the hall in her nightgown. Moral of the story...don't depend on it but what a nice surprise if it happens to you.

We had a cash night in a studio that was upgraded to a onebedroom so we didn't have to move into our one bedroom (on points). But it is rare that you would be upgraded when you are staying on points.

Happened to my SIL at BCV in October....she loved the 1bdrm as they have only stayed in studios....

We were upgraded last Nov. from a standard to a preferred studio at BWV. (Figured it might have had something to do with the refurb work going on).

Then again in Dec. at BWV we were upgraded from a studio to a 1 BR. It was the next to the last room down the hall from the elevator so someone might have refused it, but I was glad to get it.
