A very quick update for this morning. I spent the entire day with Bob yesterday! He was on the vent all day, after having been on and off the day before (a planned schedule) and he was much stronger and able to talk through his trach a bit. We read and watched some TV and he was generally in better spirits than he has been for a few days. We are going to watch at least part of the Super Bowl together tonight, but I will be with him for a few hours this morning and afternoon first.

We are still waiting on insurance approval for the move to the hospital in Richmond. Then we will begin the next step in his recovery. Keep thinking of us. The good thoughts and prayers are much appreciated.

Elin,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Bob for a continued and speedy recovery.

Kathy

Thank you all:grouphug:

Well, your pixie dust and good thoughts worked..I got the job:woohoo:
As you all know it's temp to perm, but myself and the company see no reason why, with all my experience that I wouldn't become perm:goodvibes
I start Tuesday, 2 weeks of training 8:30am-4:00pm.
After training the hrs are 10:00-6:30pm, 8:30am-5pm on Saturdays, Thurs & Sun off:thumbsup2 I like those days off, Scott is off from HD those 2 days...And I can make Dr appointments for dad on Thursdays.
Hopefully, in 3 months, I can become permanant, get benefits, and better pay!:yay:

Awesome!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Great news that he is stronger. pixiedust:

That sounds good Elin! Will Richmond be a lot closer for you? I hope he can make the move soon.

Thanks, everyone (and Kim... I have been a Steelers fan probably longer than you have been alive!)

Richmond is an hour away. Bob is in a hospital here in our city right now. So, the drive will be difficult. But it is where he belongs, I am told. So it is where he will be.

Oh, sorry Elin, I remembered that one or the other was further from you, but confused them. Sorry to hear that the drive will be longer. I hope he is able to get the care he needs to get home very soon!

That is strange. I know that we give travel agents similar perks when it comes to personal travel that staff of other airlines get. Do you have an IATA number? You need one of those to get discounts on airlines.
Congratulations on the new job. Looks like this is all working out for you. I keep my fingers crossed that this will become a permanent position soon.

Corinna

I don't have an IATA yet, I have a CLIA though...CLIAs are easier to get when you are just starting out.
Thanks, I'm starting to get nervous, but I'm excited:yay:

:banana::yay: Congrats.
That is how I started out 16yrs ago at my company. I was temping and after a few months they hired and I have never left:lmao:
Thanks:hug:

Thinking of you both!

 We can't have Ben having more rings than Brady :rolleyes1

Looks like we won't have to worry about that:rotfl2:

I know I am new to the thread, and haven't even experienced my AKL time yet, I fully admit that I haven't read the last 4 pages, but I just need a little place to vent and you all seem so great.

So I never took a vacation without my kids when they were little, no babysitters, and the such. So after 20 years I get to book my dream vacation. I figure DD is 18 and in college, she will be okay watching DS15 high honors student in a Jesuit school. DH never get sick, I am always the one sick. I change my lifestyle, rest, do my best.

This week, DH gets his first ever very bad cold/sinus infection - whatever!! So he goes to Dr's tomorrow, hoping he can still fly. I have an autoimmune so I have been avoiding him, which is hard when you have to make plans together.

Responsible DD decides it time to rebel - nothing bad, don't get me wrong, but enough to just go past my limits. And I am leaving DS with her, and the the CAR!!:scared1::scared1:

DS has a retreat the day before we leave and I think he is getting cold feet along with a warm forehead (fever from Dad - nice - NOT) about going.

So now after 20 years, I should be buying some cute little number to WOW DH and I just want to curl up in my sweats:eek:.

So Is it possible to get away, forget the worries and enjoy WDW without bringing the kids no matter their age??:headache::headache: Please reassure me!!!:dance3::dance3:

Tinker'n'Fun - First... curl up in those sweats for a few hours. THEN... Buy the cute little number. Wow your DH. Your kids are old enough to survive a few days without you and you know you raised them right.

Hello Everyone,
I'm thinking about staying in a studio at AKV, but I'm a little worried about the sleeper sofa. I have two boys 8 & 4 they will be sharing it for five days.

Has anyone tried it and had a good night sleep?

...I don't think that you'll have a problem....I might be more concerned if your DS's were older (in their teens)....besides, most kids can practically sleep ANYWHERE :rotfl: - at least, MINE can! ;) :teeth:

BTW ~ :welcome: to our thread!

wanted to show you all my AWESOME "standard" view

Room 2541 was in the corner..at the end of the east side..very close to the room we had last month...I guess the pen outside the room is why it is considered "standard" but it was quiet and we had so many animals..all the time!
