The only block of rooms I do not recommend would be the first pod off the lobby (2407-2421) -- those mostly have a view of the restaurant roof. Any of the others should be good. If you want make sure you stay near the lobby and buses, request "Giraffe Trail"; otherwise, Zebra Trail (just not that first pod!) would be good. For convenience I'd request 3rd floor (which is lobby level).

We stayed at Jambo House in December. Bought a lot of stuff at WDW. Went to the cashier at Zawadi Marketplace and they packed and shipped everything home for us. Good luck!

That is fantastic, I had no idea you could have them ship it to your home, I was thinking of picking up some unique Christmas gifts but nixed the idea because of not having enough room in my carry-on and don't trust putting things of value in my checked luggage. I am happy now

This is so off topic, but I have to say it, WDW Weddings announced special less expensive wedding packages! They dont come with much, but hopefully this means we can have our wedding sooner rather than later!

I'm planning our next family vacation and have always wanted to stay Savannah View at the AKL, but looks like we won't have the funds and will have to stay pool view. Will we be disappointed? We like everything the resort has to offer, but were really looking forward to sitting on our balcony watching the animals. Are there any viewing spots where you can sit in a chair for a bit and relax while watching the animals? Do they close down the viewing areas at night? Is there a good request to put in for pool view so that you don't get a room with lots of foliage? Do any of the pool views overlook the Uzima Savannah a bit or the flamingo pond, and what would you request for that? Thanks in advance, we still want to stay here, but want to make it the best trip even though we won't be waking to the giraffes!

We had the pool view and we loved it. We were in a value studio and our room was right next to the elevator and the view was awesome.

"I got the okay from Wendy to let everyone know why she is away from the Boards. Wendy was in a car wreck last week in her husband's new car (they had it less than 48 hours)...he was taking her out to lunch and some shopping. They were stopped at a light and were hit from behind by a car going around 50 miles an hour. Luckily, her husband was not injured...but Wendy was and the car was totalled. She suffered a concussion and torn neck muscles.

She is getting a little bit better every day but it is probably going to be a long recovery process so it will be awhile before she is back on the Boards. Thanks for everyones understanding!

If you get a chance...send up a few prayers and good thoughts for a speedy recovery!"
