HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO MY BELOVED JAMBO FRIENDS:grouphug:

Thanks for the well wishes...very kind!

So lets have fun...:lovestrucname the weirdest, strangest gift you ever got for Valentines Day! LOL oops....maybe you cant post it here...:lmao:

Happy Hearts Day to all....I got a Disney Gift Card from DH! He sent me the email with the receipt of his online order.....(for next time to Disney):laughing:popcorn:: GOtta love him:thumbsup2

Sweet Ava! I LOVED the song she sang on my voicemail last week. It made my evening...

Lots of good things yesterday. I hope when I get to the hospital this morning they continued all night long.

Bob got up on his feet (with lots of help and for only about 3 seconds) and sat on a chair yesterday afternoon. He also has stayed on the trach collar for over 24 hours... no ventilator for sleeping last night! The plan of action for today is to get him up and out of the bed at least twice and to try to wean him from even less oxygen through the collar. I can see rehab (or the acute care facility) in our future, finally.

Happy Valentine's Day, Jamborinis!!

Yay!!! :dance3::dance3: That is great news!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I'm new to this thread!!!

Okay, instead of telling you my whole life story as I was about it (as it pertains to Disney vacations, that is) I'll just tell you this... I am VERY impatiently waiting to find out if my husband is getting May 21-28 for our vacation so we can use the 40% off PIN we just got to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge! It's taking all my self control to keep me from calling and booking it, but as we are only about 95 days out I wanted to wait until we knew for sure. I've never planned a Disney Vacation so close to being there before, but I'm super excited! We have our dining reservations picked out already, hoping we will get what we want when we do get to book. His vacation goes from Saturday to Saturday, but we're hoping to do Thursday - Thursday instead in hopes of getting better airfare.

Here is my question... Savannah view, or no view? Is it really worth the extra $500ish for a week?

We're hoping to eat AKL/AK TS restaurants for the first time... Boma, Yak & Yeti, and Tusker House for breakfast. I have to have some zebra domes!!

I'm seriously excited if you couldn't tell... but the waiting is killing me!!!

Welcome! Well I am a bad person to ask. I am in the Savanna view only crowd. However, there are many people on this thread who don't always book savanna views. So hopefully they will jump in.

Even more news to report tonight. :yay: Bob was transferred to the Kindred Hospital in Richmond this afternoon. It is the place he needs to be to move forward with his recovery, so even though it will be more difficult for us to get to him to spend time, it will be better for him. I will go down there tomorrow morning and come back to teach in the afternoon.

Hey guys, going to Disney for spring break in March and I can finally afford a deluxe since I'm getting a discount through my friend who is doing the DCP. I am trying to decide between WL and AKL and since AKL is cheaper, I figured I'd come to this thread so you guys could help convince me AKL is the best decision :) Keep in mind, I can't afford anything but a standard room.

JAMBO - Welcome!!! As an owner at AKV/KV - (Hi Neighbor:wave2:)
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Kidani - it is amazing! You will NOT be disappointed. Jambo House (the lodge) is huge, busy, etc..... Kidani is not - it's much quieter - cozier if you will. I LOVE that the 1br.'s have 2 baths........ which Jambo doesn't have - but, I DO miss Mara being right there - it's not far, but, it's not right there. Don't get me wrong, I ADORE the lodge, we fell in love with it, that's why we bought there - but Kidani is my absolute favorite. Kidani also has community hall, which is fun - our DS Loved it!! As for April, I've never been at that time, so I have no advice, but I will advise you to make any ADR's you can NOW!!!! Also, if you don't get what you want, you can always try getting them once you check in with the concierge - they've been known to work miracles!!! Good Luck

Congratulations, going Deluxe is awesome! My husband & I stayed value for our first two trips, and on our 3rd was able to afford the cheapest deluxe and stayed at the WL (standard king) and it was amazing being able to stay deluxe, I seriously felt like a queen! I've never stayed at the AKL before, we're planning to in May so I can't say whether the WL is better than the AKL, but I can definitely recommend standard at the WL. We had a good view of the pool. We loved the location. Even though it is not on the monorail, we felt like we were so close to everything. We could take a boat to the MK or Contemporary, and then hop the monorail to epcot or TTC. Bus transportation from the WL was good too, we never felt like we waited for a bus, but on most trips we did share a bus with the GF.

Thank you all:grouphug:

Well, your pixie dust and good thoughts worked..I got the job:woohoo:
As you all know it's temp to perm, but myself and the company see no reason why, with all my experience that I wouldn't become perm:goodvibes
I start Tuesday, 2 weeks of training 8:30am-4:00pm.
After training the hrs are 10:00-6:30pm, 8:30am-5pm on Saturdays, Thurs & Sun off:thumbsup2 I like those days off, Scott is off from HD those 2 days...And I can make Dr appointments for dad on Thursdays.
Hopefully, in 3 months, I can become permanant, get benefits, and better pay!:yay:

That is wonderful news, I am so glad it has worked out for you!:yay::yay::yay:

Oh, it's a great decision, for sure!:thumbsup2 Standard rooms are fine, there are plenty of public viewing areas to see the animals.

Both buildings are great but they have different advantages. In Kidani, if you are in a 1 BR, then you will have 2 bathrooms. It is also a bit quieter. Plus the DVC rooms are on all flors (2-5) so you have a chance at being closer to the animals. If you have a car, then because the parking is under the building, you can park at the elevator near your room. Sanaa is a great restaurant if you like Indian food. Also the buses to the parks stop here first.

Jambo on the other hand, has the impressive lobby and of course Maras! The gift shop is larger and the walk to your room is shorter than potentially at Kidani.

The facility and staff at Kindred Richmond are top-notch. I wish Bob could have gone there two weeks ago when it was first requested. I spent 5 hours with him yesterday and his outlook is so much more upbeat and content. We already have a plan of action in hand and I am looking forward to seeing the changes and improvements in the next week or so!

Thanks again for your continued good wishes, prayers and kind words. They mean the world to me and Bob is stunned by your support. :goodvibes

Jen – so glad things are going well for you…
Elin – sending prayers and good thoughts your way. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Tinker’n’Fun – hope you have a Healthy and WOW trip!
Wendy – hope you feel better soon!
Kim – sending well wishes your way too

To all the newcomers - welcome :welcome:
