Is it okay/legal in MA to bag the grass cuttings? how about what gets raked?

Thinking ahead a few weeks to when I'll need to get out there and rake the yard. DH is having DS help with the sides & back this year. I usually just get the front which is 1/2 the yard!
So can grass clippings from the mower be bagged and put in the trash? How about what gets raked up in the spring?

I doubt if there is a state-wide mandate, in PA every town or township may have different rules. Contact your borough office, they will know the rules. We can do either where we live, bag or recycle.

I also recommend calling your local town hall / town clerk.

Not all city/state rules are the same.

Wow, being a city dweller I had no idea it could be illegal to bag you grass clippings. I guess I would call the town hall or the local library.

You need to call your town hall, or ask your neighbor - something like this is decided by your town and not the state.
