Is it OK to share meals at TS?

If we pay OOP, We're thinking of sometimes ordering an entree and app and sharing--is this done? We were thinking of doing it at Marrakesh, Teppan Edo, and Le Cellier. We'd also be ordering kids meals and wine.

Is it also OK to do if in DDP? DS will have just turned 10 and if we do DDP we were thinking of sometimes having him share a meal with one of us--just not sure if it's OK to do or super unusual. This isn't for buffets or fixed price meals.

Thanks!

Someone else can answer this better... but some restaurants charge a plate-sharing fee.

Hubby and I have shared at various places and have never been charged an extra fee. We don't share everywhere, but we do share sometimes with no problem.

don't think any of the Disney restaurants do a plate-charging fee. We've never encountered it.

Now some of the non-Disney owned places get kind of picky about how & what you order if you're on the dining plan. Like Via Napoli will not allow 2 people on the dining plan to share an individual-sized pizza (they charge 1 TS credit for individual, 2 credits for a large...so two people on plan are expected to order either an individual pizza each, or individual pasta entree, or share the large pizza...but whichever way you order, they will get one credit from each of you.)

Have not been on the DDP but my mom and I shared pretty much every single meal we ate last May TS and CS, with of course the exceptions of buffets/all you can eats. We weren't charged a plate sharing fee. We shared at Le Cellier, Liberty Tree Tavern, 50's Prime Time Cafe for TS and Mara, Columbia Harbour House, Studio Catering Co, Wolfgang Puck Express, Earl of Sandwich, Kringla Bakeri, Cosmic Ray's, and Sunshine Seasons for CS. Plenty of food every time. Most of the TS places either split the meal on separate plates or brought us an extra plate.

I'm pretty sure you can't share at Teppan Edo, as it is not someplace that brings you an actual plate of food.

Thanks! For Teppan Edo, we were thinking of ordering one of the steak entrees and then some sushi and splitting--so instead of both DH and myself getting an entree they cook right there, we would get one and then some sushi.

I guess I can always just wait and see while there. It's not a big deal one way or the other, but I just wanted to have a sort of heads up before we went. THanks again!

you could also check out tokyo dining! it's connected but it's sit-down and not hibatchi.

I've never had a problem doing this. Never had a fee, either.
