Is it ok to ask for Titus updates here now that....

the Iraqi Freedom Board is closed? Thousands of our brave troops are still over in Iraq, among them Titus.

Is it ok to now post our concerns and prayers for him and the other Troops on the CB?

I'll bet it's OK. I think Alex said that all the threads were merged onto the CB, so I should think it would be OK.

sure would hope so, IMHO I think it was a bad decision to close the other board. There are still hundreds of soldiers, marines and sailors there , many who are family members of folks here on the DIS. who still would like to talk ,post, and get some moral support from other members on the board without having to search thru the mish mash of the entire community board. Remember it isn't over till they all come home.

I'm glad the move was made to close that board. It was time. The posters just were not getting near the support they had in the 'beginning' as the traffic on that board was really slowing down. They can still feel free to post on the CB and seem to be getting alot more support already.

I certainly hope so. My nephew Matt is still there and expected to be there at least a year.

As for the decision to close the boards. I don't think that closing the boards means that the conflict is over. I do think it means it is not front and center. No one can live with that kind of stress over a long period of time and not be affected. I agree with the poster who felt that closing the boards might get people more support rather than less. I know I never visited there simply because I didn't want to be reminded on a daily basis that my nephew is in harm's way.

I'm pretty sure that the point of closing the operation enduring freedom thread wasn't to keep posts about our troops from occuring. I'm not sure why the board ended, I haven't heard a reason, so I will just put my posts about Titus up on the community board unless an administrator or a moderator tell me differently.
Thankfully, Titus seems to be doing ok and we haven't lost any soldiers near Mosul in the last couple days. Sure will be glad when he and the rest of our troops come home though.
