Is it normal to feel like you were hit by a truck?

Because that's how I feel right now. If you see someone in Epcot or AK walking like they're 90, that's me.

Take it easy today but keep moving. It is fairly normal for someone who really pushed them self.

For the first race, absolutely! The Princess last year was my first race and I felt great initially but after a few hours, I started to feel that way. Just stay hydrated, keep moving and follow the RICE method if you have anything that is really hurting. You will be back to 100% before you know it! Congratulations on your achievement!!

I think so for your first race. But you'll feel a lot better after each race you do now :)

Ah, I remember that feeling! Seems like yesterday.......I remember feeling like I would throw up every time I moved!! It gets better each race you do.....

my legs are KILLING me today! so incredibly sore! i hope it's normal! then again, nothing about what i do is usually considered normal ;)

After my first half I waddled around the parks for two days. Now after a PR I will be a bit sore but mostly when going up and down stairs.

Soreness is to be expected, shooting pain, especially near a ligament, should be looked at or at least iced for a little bit in the hotel room.

Keep moving! One of the best things you can do for your legs after a race is to go for a walk. Nothing too long or too strenuous, but light exercise does help them start to recover and feel better. A good sports massage helps tremendously too.

Move move move. Unless the pain is localized and acute - then go see a doctor right away. It'll hurt, my biggest thing after a marathon or something is the transitions between sitting and standing and walking.

You know when my muscles are sore, a warm epsom salt bath really can help relax things and give me relief without taking Advil...been trying to cut back. Of course I am no doctor and am convinced I am not sore today because we went to Epcot at 1:30 yesterday then to Magic Kingdom, left after the fireworks. All that walking the parks must have been what I needed.....though man I was SLOW.

GREAT JOB on the race BTW!

That.

I felt awful after the first one. Had a dinner meet scheduled that I just didn't make. And actually, it was more than just the race. Used to be, once I got to the 8 - 12 mile long run range during training, I'd have to nap afterward to recover.

yesterday was #17...did MK lightly afterward. I did take a nap in the car on the way home, but that was more about being up at 2:30 than the race. Today, just a little soreness in the quads and my bad ankle is holding up well.

The more you do this, the less poopy you feel afterward :thumbsup2

I went in to work today even though I was soooo sore. If a fire alarm had come on, I would have been in trouble! Slow moving and especially after sitting for a bit. This was my first and I figured I would be sore but this is more intense than I thought.
Even in my most painful moments today, I was still euphoric about finishing the race!!:yay:

I always soak in a cold bath for 10 minutes as as soon as I can post race or long run. Lay down and rest for no more than 90 minutes, then a warm soak in Epsom salts and I get moving (walking) again. After my full in January, I was only a little sore going down stairs or steps for the first day and half. By 48 hours after, I was completely back to myself
