Is It My Imagination-Or Are There More Codes Available Lately?

I've been on these boards a short time, but it seems as though the highly-sought-after-ever-elusive-pin code is becoming much, much, much more common and is being offered with greater frequency.

Once upon a time on these boards the proud, the few (pin code holders) were a rarity.

Me thinks that this is one of Disney's tactics to fill up their inventory in this very soft economy.

Assuming that I'm onto something, I wonder what else they will come up with...free dining on top of a pin code, additions to the MYW, resort credit? While I don't think they typically allow you to stack offers (put two promotions together), I wouldn't be surprised to see them explore this.

Assuming that it all starts with filling the resorts which in turn brings people into the parks, restaurants, gift shops, etc., it would make sense for them to up the ante.

Thoughts?

Wish they would send me one of those 40% codes. We go to WDW atleast once a year for 8-9- days, and have never rec'd anything. I guess that's why WDW has started doing more bounceback promos......to allow the regular returning guest a savings...without waiting for a pin code. But, I still don't understand how some people get a pin code once or twice a year...and others have been going for years..never receive a thing?????

Oh well, I'v never been a lucky person.:guilty: :sad2:

It seems everyone but my family is receiving the codes. I've been calling and doing everything i've normally done, but to no avail. Of course, i still have 9 months until my trip so there's still plenty of time, but i'd sure like to get in early to make the ressie with the code and have it PIF no later than August.

I assume codes go out to families who have not visited in a while or that do not have an active reservation. I almost always have an active reservation as i try to reserve 12 months out to ensure i get the desired room-type. I don't think i'll get a code and will most likely have to wait for a package code close to our 45 day out reservation so that will be cutting it close. I'd hate to pay a $50 penalty for changing/canceling a reservation if a code comes out, but if the savings are that good, then i guess it'll be worth it.

Here's some :goodvibes for me and all others who have yet to get a code.

That's interesting because we were just there in December. I called in January for the heck of it and viola....there was a code attached to my name in the database. I've been calling and asking for 3 years and nothing-then miraculously a code appears next to my name!
