Is it me or the prices higher earlier this year?

DW and I go to Disney 5-6 times a year. And usually stay at the Value resorts for $49 when we go. We usually make are last stay before summer in April for both of are birthdays. I know we stay there early april last year for the $49. But this year I was looking to make the reservation and the prices are higher starting all they way in Feb. for $74. And those rates are only for Sun-Thur night.

Well we might go but will probably only stay one night now compared to 2. So that $25 that Disney jacked up there prices this year will cost them an extra night stay and day and half of food and purchases from DW and I.

But hey I understand supply and demand. And I guess the demand allows you to make that much more money and still have the reservations.

And these MYW tickets are the biggest price hike I have seen. Yes I agree if your going for a week then its benificial, but how many family really go a week? Most familys I have seen and hear are only there 3-5 days.

Up until April 16 is peak season for a lower rate go after then. Buy the 7 day with no expiration and use it for two stays.

Disney's idea was to get us to stay longer!!! March/april are high seasons due to spring break. Each state has their own weeks.

well we always go for 2 weeks, and I know we aren't alone - I think these new tickets are fabulous!

MYW is really not that big of a price hike. If you want a one day ticket as a florida resident it is actually $1 cheaper than it would be now. You also have the option of getting a one day park hopper for just 5 extra dollars. They also offer a three day ticket for this price of a two day for Florida residents. And this ticket is good for six months even without paying the no expiration fee.

We go 10-15 days and always got APs. We're waiting to see and maybe next year we'll switch to the MYW tickets so that we can add the dining option. I always thought most people stayed at least a week.

DisneyMomx7,

Hopefully I will be at WDW for 11 day/10 night May 27-June 6. I have wanted to stay onsite ever since I went 3 years ago, stayed offsite and had an ok time, but not much disney magic. These new MYW packages, tickets and dinning options hopefully will really help me out. For the price of a MYW 5 day ticket with hopper plus $12.00 more I can go to the parks for 10 days.

*********

The $49 rates last year were with AP, postcard and email codes. It was $54 or 55 (plus tax) with everday people codes last year.

We are going in January for $49 (value season) and paying the $74 or so AP in Feb (high season). Last year we paid $49 for February AP (not during Presidents week). I guess it depends on availablility.

I think the MYW tickets are a GREAT IMPROVEMENT!!! We can get a seven day hopper (no expiration) for LESS than a five day hopper used to cost us!! We also stay 8 nights and nine days!! That still isn't enough days for us!!!

disneyfreakjackie,

I know what you mean. I have been waiting for 3 years to go back, but never found good enough prices to stay onsite (will never stay offsite again, bad experience). It really wasn't so much the resorts, because I could always stay in a Value since it is just me and be very happy. It always seemed to be the tickets, the food, airport trans, etc. However with the new MYW packages, it looks like they have taken care of all that.
