There seems to be a problem with the boards. I know I have posted a reply and then puff it is gone. I noticed that one day there are several pages and today only two. Then this afternoon there was a thread that several people responded to and it was back and there were no posts. Please tell me it is not me :confused3

Is there anything we can do about it?

I can't preview my post...I have to submit my reply right then or it totally locks up.....I can't search either (or maybe I just havent found that function yet)

Have a great day...... :flower1:

This has always happened to me because my Web server keeps pages in memory and will not recheck them until a certain amount of time has passed. I've fussed and fussed with it and haven't found a way around it yet. Very annoying on Ebay when I'm watching a bid at the last minute, too.

If you wiped out your Temp Internet files and cleared history it might help. (But never does on mine because the web server is on another machine.)

down at the bottom of the page you will find "display options". Go in and change the amount of days/time it shows for posts. This will address the number of pages issues. As for disappearing posts, sorry, dunno about that.

(this is a temporary fix, to change the number of pages shown permanently you need to go into your profile and adjust it there)

I have noticed that the site does not "remember me" each time I come back like it used to. I must sign in every single time.

I have not had that happen to me - I never sign out and my browser/DIS board always knows that it's me here. You might need to check the security setting on your browser - it probably has to accept cookies in order to know who you are when you return. Web surfing is safer if you don't enable the cookie function, but in this case it may help you.

how do you do a SEARCH? I can't find that option anymore.

If you look at the bottom of the thread you find "similar threads" this may be the search replacement. Non the less it sure is handy. It will definately help in the interm. :jumping4:

Yes go to TOOLS on your windows tool bar, select INTERNET OPTIONS, and CLEAR HISTORY and DELETE FILES, you should also be able to reduce the days HISTORY FILES are kept to ZERO. This will help.

Another trick is to CLICK the REFRESH icon on the tool bar, it looks like two arrows in a circle on a paper. That refreshes the current page you are on.

The search function is still disabled. You'll be able to access it at the bottom of the page under "forum jump"

My computer is only showing 2 pages of threads too. Since I am a computer dummy I have absolutely no idea what anyone is talking about to fix it. This is so frustrating. This is my favorite site and the one I am on most. I'm almost ready to cancel AOL.

The search function is on the top of the page under the folder tree...kinda like the tool bar. Just click on Search.....it has worked for me!

Also, I don't know if AOL is the same, but you can choose how many days of posts you can view by using the options at the bottom of the page. That may help those with the problem of only seeing 2 pages worth of posts....I had that same problem until a nice Dis'er pointed it out to me!

The new software defalted to where you would only get a couple of pages. For example just the new posts for that day. To change it for good, you need to go into the user cp at the top of the page. Or each time you sign on, the bottom of the page has it. If you need help...pm me and I can walk you through it.

Lol...you're welcome...I know what a pain in the rear it was for me too!
