I haven't read all of the replies and yes the money thing would bug me...but why is she always asking if he ate such and such...I would get sick of it too...It is annoying being monitored all of the time. she sounds like a food nazi...let him make his own lunches.

No, it's not you, this guy is a nut job. But don't forget she picked him, so he's her nut job. If she wants to put up with him I guess that's up to her but I wonder how funny she really thinks it is, she seems to tell you alot, maybe she just wants some validation for it all.

Maybe they deserve each other. At the beginning, I was genuinely worried about my friend. As the years have gone on, I've come to the conclusion that I think she enjoys it. She likes the drama. She likes being able to call me, at work, crying about something he did or said. She tells me all about how it's over, blah, blah. She doesn't work and he tells her she's not going anywhere because he owns her. Maybe they're perfect for each other. She'll have something to complain about and he can eat his cheese and lie about it.

I bet he's at work telling his friends about the wife that must account for every sausage in the fridge. "Sheeeesh, just the two of us live there, but when food disappears from the firdge, she can't for the life of her figure out where it went".

I was thinking the same thing, Bob. I can see being upset about the money etc., but with the food it seemed like obviously she knew he ate it and when confronted he got irritated because he didn't like being scolded for eating food from his own fridge. It seems a bit much to be calling your dh at work wanting to know what happened to the leftovers. As an adult I'd be bugged if someone was monitoring my eating.
